Shit, I forgot that was on today. Instead, I was watching a preview for a game I already own.

It's been pretty fucking amazing. Just like being British, amazing. Because we're amazing. Go us for being amazing.

That's because you're not amazing like the British.

I'm amazing enough to know people aren't amazing just because they were born in a specific country

Hey, you can’t just copy what someone else wrote on Twitter and pretend it’s your blogpost.

And fuck off, I liked it. Can’t celebrate British music without also including the modern side of things, just because you dislike it.

I liked the Eric Idle bit. We were laughing 'til it hurt. His face!

I was pissed that they had Muse and Oasis, but not Radiohead. Savages.

Other than that, pretty great closing ceremony.

Yeah, but Radiohead are whiny, depressing bitches. They would have brought down the party mood.

They had everyone I complained were absent from the opening ceremony, including my beloved Elbow.

We spent the entire opening ceremony wondering where the fuck Elbow were. When they came on in the closing ceremony my whole family breathed a collective sigh of relief.

Okay yeah I used that from twitter, but I really couldn't think of anything to say and that fitted the bill. They could of had someone better then Jessie fucking J replacing Freddie, just leaving Freddie singing on that screen would of been better.

Apart from that and a few other things (Like Russell Brand...urgh) I did enjoy it. The tribute to Only Fools and Horses was brillant and Eric Idel singing 'Always look on the bright side of life' was a nice surprise. Muse, The Who, Oasis and Stomp were all really good as well. I really like Muse's newest song.

Anyway, sorry to have sounded like a total cunt in my blog but I'm a Queen fan and just having Jessie J. Singing along with them just angered me. I wasn't the only one to get annoyed as well.

Were there technical issues with the sound all the way through, or was that my TV?

Not just that though. I'm sure some mics weren't working. Brian May was making a lot of soundless strums.

This is the first I've heard of the Olympics even finishing, to be honest. Just haven't been keeping track.

All the acts sound like boring shit, though. Even Eric Idle, even though he's generally great. It all sounds sickeningly predictable.

I loved the Freddy Mercury part, the fact that he got such a response from the crowd even though he's dead...to have such a legacy like that...for a second a forget he was even dead.

True as that may be, they're still an integral part of British music history. At least more than the fucking Spice Girls.

Didn't you see it? I defy you to predict one part of his routine besides the song. Which was also different from the usual.

To be honest, I'm only going on what I've seen posted here - I haven't been using the television recently, for the express purpose of dodging the Olympics, because I'm a cantankerous old bastard like that.

Having no real information on it, I couldn't tell you the content of the acts, but I predict that the general mood was somewhat patriotic and sickening, as is everything else I see from England almost every year (I've never really been a flagwaver), and that all of the actual problems occuring (especially with the public sector, thanks to your fiend and mine, Mr. Cameron) which affect working people have at least for this period been concealed behind a canvas of red, white and blue.

As you can tell, it's been a really light-hearted occasion for me.

What? They influenced tons of British bands. All the Spice Girls influenced was a generation of slutty teens.

Ok, maybe I'm overrating them a lot, but they at least deserved to be there more than Muse.

I liked some of Radiohead's stuff anyway, but my respect for them skyrocketed when one of them collaborated with Krzysztof Penderecki (whose first name I always have to google to check spelling).

The closing ceremony isn't about showing off British music history. It's to have a party. And, as I said before, Radiohead are mood killers.

The last hour or so was devoted to that. They said so several times during the performances.

But yeah, they probably would've been major party poopers
