http://groupbuy.ebay.com.au/

if 500 people agree to buy them they'll get them for $719 each

i accidentally did so

one sale to go

not that i don't want one... is it safe to buy something like this over ebay though...?

mhrm

EDIT: actually, now it's all changed after the last person agreed to buy and it says 100 bought. Maybe this means I haven't entered a contract to buy it after all? I'm thoroughly confused by the whole thing.

EDIT 2: oh, I think the reason is that the minimum number of people required to buy it to activate the deal was 100, but there are 500 in stock. So I still do have to get it after all.

As safe as with buying from other websites.

How did you "accidentally" buy it?

Ebay is hit and miss, I don't use it personally, I do all my online shopping with Amazon, even when items I've received haven't worked I've had no problems getting my money back.

In fact once I bought a game from a guy, he took my money and never actually sent the item, he wouldn't get back to me, but Amazon were happy enough to refund me the money.

I just love pressing buttons... especially big ones... anyway, looking into it, the PayPal buyer protection thingy should be able to get me money back or something if the phone turns out to be fake, which I don't think is very likely anyway. Maybe I should just pay for it and see what happens.

I've never had any issues getting money back from Ebay/Paypal. Paypal has refunded me several times when the seller has been a douche.

The seller has exceedingly excellent feedback, so there shouldn't be any problems anyway. I'm just quite anxious about spending that much on something over the internet.

What a stupid deal, they're acting like it's some great bargain while they're just selling it at retail value. For your sake I hope it includes shipping for it to be worth it...

The cheapest I've seen it here is $869. And yes, it includes shipping.

I've read T-nex's comment 40 times now and I still don't get it. Was that in response to some grammar mistake I made, or what?

Be careful, though. The networks in Australia sometimes use different frequencies to the networks in the USA, so the manufacturers need to tweak the antennae and firmware. If this is one made for America, it might not work here.

That said, if it's the 3G version you should be safe.

Network Band: GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900, 3G 850 (NextG/Vodafone 850/US3G), 3G 900 (Optus YesG/Vodafone 900), 3G 1900, 3G 2100
So it should work here.
