Why did it felt good?

Because I'm evil. Also, because she is the worst employee I have ever had, who I have given multiple, multiple opportunities to, and have gone out of my way for over, and over. Today was the last straw. So now she can see how long she'll last somewhere else. Not long, I would imagine.

I guess the Home Depot is getting stricter with their employees.

I was as nice as you can be to someone spitting venom in your face, telling you that they think they should be on equal terms with you, and that they won't do what you tell them to do. I congratulated her for promoting herself, and then informed her that she promoted herself to a new location. Her apartment.

I always feel sorry for people like that - I mean what do you do when you're that useless, you have people depending on you to support them, and you can't rely on people to carry you?

But even bending over backwards for them doesn't actually help them in the long run since they don't learn anything from it to become better people - And instead they lean on you and you just end up being dragged down with them. You have my sympathy - If you have a heart, it's not easy to deal with people like that either.

The only reason that I kept her around as long as I have is because, unfortunately, she is the best telemarketer I've ever seen. However, she can't take notes, she can't take messages, she can't spell, she can't show up to work on time, she constantly needs to leave early, and she argues about everything you tell her to do.

The funny thing is that they gave her my position after I had my nervous break down last year, and left. She had it for about a month before they took it away, and gave it to someone else. The moment I told Roger, the owner, that I was better, and ready to come back he fired the other person, and gave me my job back. But she still thinks she knows how to do my job better than I do.

She called me today to ask why she was fired. I told her it was clearly for insubordination, as she told me she didn't consider me to be her boss, and wouldn't do what I told her to. At the end of the conversation, she said in her snottiest tone that she was recording the conversation. I said "That's good. Because if the labor board asks why I fired you, my answer is going to be identical to what you recorded. Soooo, thanks for that, I guess". She hung up then.
