Shameless Self Advertising

Hello folks,
A relatively brief blog just to link you to...my new blog: http://fieldstrollerwriting.blogspot.co.uk/

the link above will take you to what I hope, becomes the hub for any business I drum up for freelance writing. I suppose while I'm here, I might add that if anyone needs writing done here, or contract work if you own a proffessional blog or corporate website, I am indeed in dire need of work.

I have experience in a huge spectrum of writing, from speeches to creative writing, from persuasive journalism to 7000 word undergraduate university essays.

If you don't need any work done (and I'm sure most of you don't,) but you know someone who does, I would be eternally grateful if you could put a good word in for me.

I'm in a bit of a financial pickle you see, and this is pretty much the only skill I have that I can pursue monetarily, unless you count labouring...

Thanks for reading.

P.S. My grammar is far, far better than in this blog normally. XD

Sure, they generally love being able to perform their talent for a living, but they don't always get to love the actual work.
That doesn’t really contradict what I said, so I stand by it.

I like writing, but...I'm like money as well.
That doesn’t mean you have to make it about the money.

But it is about the money. If you're in the situation where you needn't worry about such things then good for you, but I do need to make it about the money. I'm already confident in the calibre of my writing, I don't anyone to tell me any different or suggest my motives are ill-founded.

But in all seriousness, my point is that whether or not money is the prime motivation, you need to sell your talent to potential clients without coming off as money-grubbing. It sounds incredibly unprofessional and almost sleazy.

It's not about being honest or dishonest. It's about advertising yourself in a way that will make your service sound attractive. You don't need to act like you're writing for people as an act of benevolence, but most people would be turned off by obvious mentions of cash.

Well I've almost secured my first job, all I have to do is finish up the negotiations, it might be regular for a time as well rather than just a one hit wonder. Obviously, this is quite a big thing over a line of text on my blog. My portfolio, my profiles etcetera, don't mention monetary motivation. To say I'm being sleazy is somewhat of an overreaction.

And in response to your quote, I haven't got a good night sleep in over three weeks now, my hands shake and I constantly have to retype what I've written, I'm lucky to have got thus far with relatively few typos. XD

As you can probably tell, that means I have to be that bit more careful for this thing so I don't fuck up on the first hurdle. I don't know if anyone else has trouble sleeping in the summer? It's a bitch!
