Doublefine is flying me out to their studio next Wed. to show me their new game. I thought it was a joke at first, but just called their offices, and they confirmed it. I am the only member of the forum invited to the press event announcing their new game that is led by Ron Gilbert. I feel like shitting my pants.

Okay. More specifics. I'll be flying in Wednesday morning, and leaving Thursday evening. Also, they requested that I don't make any public announcements about this. WHOOPS. Well, it's not like I announced it on the Double Fine forum, or told any gaming sites. I'm sure it's not a big deal that I talk about it here.

I am horrified.

But really, they should have said so from the beginning. They only told me not to after I asked about it. If I hadn't had the good sense to ask before blabbing all over the internet it wouldn't have gone as smoothly. Not that I'm saying this accusingly. I'm just saying that it's a good thing I asked first.

but anyway, that's fucking great. i've heard a lot about Doublefine, but because i'm not a big gamer i haven't bothered to look into who they actually are. they sound awesome. it's fantastic how well they treat their fans. make the most of it, man.

They just sent me the flight, and hotel info. There is a flight booked.....with my name on it. It's actually really real. Holy shit.

Unfortunately, my return flight has turned out to be at 9:30 in the morning on Thursday, so I'll only end up being there the one day, but hey, I'm not going to complain. This is still fucking awesome.

And Justin, I asked if you could come, too. Haven't gotten an answer yet.
