He's called Zingy and the closest thing I can find in relation to it is My Keepon toys. Apparently Zingy was made with the same technology so hopefully it'll be put into production.

I don't think anyone believed it was supposed to be a turd. No sane company would want to associate their brand with shit.

Even Andrex has some irrelevant garbage about puppies when I'd much rather they sold it as "The most comfortable thing you've ever used to rub excrement off your sphincter".

But I digress. My second guess was bird. I mean, it doesn't really look like a flame, and it's hard to see what it's supposed to represent until you find out it's an energy firm advert at the end. It wouldn't be the first time a company used a completely irrelevant mascot because it's easier to market.
