It was probably a bright star low to the horizon. They tend to flash different colours sometimes. Or maybe is was an aurora? They're really pretty.

Just 'cause you don't know what it was, doesn't mean it was aliens. It's probably something to do with us humans. Until an alien comes up to me personally and introduces themselves, or it gets splashed over the news, or is otherwise proven to not be a hoax, I won't believe that an off-Earth species has visited us.

But of course there just HAS to be alien life out there if you count the billions and billions of stars, I'm not dismissing that - I just think it's improbable that they've visited us. And if I were them I'd keep far, far away if they know what's good for them. Unless they're like Half-Life 2's Combine and enslave us or something.

I saw something pretty odd last night, actually. I live near a military airport so we have low-fying aircraft skirting the city 10+ times a day, but I saw about a dozen of those little-blinky-satellite dots spanned maybe 30 miles apart near one really, particularly bright light in the Northwest. Said light didn't start zigzagging and zooming around the sky or anything, so I just shut my window to keep the draught out but still, spoOOOoky.
