I bought a new car yesterday. It's a 97 Ford Taurus with 144,000 miles. I test drove it the day before, and everything was great. Brakes, transmission, engine, everything worked perfectly. So, I came back last night, payed for the car, and drove it off. After getting about a mile down the road, the brakes completely failed.

I fucking hate cars.

I've only heard negative things about used cars.

Well, I'll still come out ahead. Even if I have to put 500 dollars in the car, I only paid 1,500.00 for it, so it's still a whole lot better than paying 15,000.00 over four years.

And if I find out that they tampered with the brakes to make them seem okay for the short term, I am going to press charges for attempted murder.

I got it stopped. The emergency brake works fine.

The brakes themselves are fine, too. It has to be a problem with the master cylinder, or the brake line.

When he mentioned the Ford Taurus the first thing I thought in my head was that it looks very similar to the Kia Shuma, so I posted a picture, I really didn't think you needed to be a car expert to see that they both look similar.
