So happy right now. Today's been a wonderful day for me and I've been itching to write a blog for a while now so here it is:
This morning I woke up to the sound of heavy rain on the roof. I got out of bed and staggered to the front door, where I opened it and beheld the fucking heaviest storm I've seen of my life. I watched as horizontal pelts of rain violently wooshed by, almost pushing over the tallest trees of our neighbourhood. At first I was really scared. The yard was flooded and there was no chance of me going to school (it's Monday). Apparently we've gotten 400ml of rain in just 12 hours. Most of the suburbs of my town are isolated from the shopping centres and schools etc. I think there's a cyclone off the Queensland Coast.
I got dressed and to my surprise the power was still on. I jumped on my laptop and got on Facebook where I was met with a video call with all my friends. I told them I was stressing out, but they cheered me the fuck up. I then went to Youtube to watch some Let's Plays. Things were turning out alright, as long as I took my mind off the storm.
Turns out one of my subscribers (some of you might know him, he's a famous Let's Player, Davidr64yt or 'X') released a video of my favourite game as a kid, F Zero. A racing game. He did the first coarse and his time was 2m, 12s and
prompted us as his fans to try to beat his time and post a video.
Of course, in his popularity, he got about 10 video responses in the first half hour.
I was one of them.
Turns out I beat his time by just .03 of a second.
He even commented on my video!
:
Really enjoyed your commentary here, and not just because it was complimentary to me.
You have a good speaking voice, and your quality is good, but those are two things that are fairly easy to get right. What makes me think your commentary is a cut above the norm is that you have very good pacing and timing. These are two things that even the best cannot get right all the time, but you do a great job of it here.
Thanks for all the kind words, good strategy here, and good race!
I read the whole thing with a huge grin on my face. Today turned out really good despite the storm. I spent the rest of the day playing Dragon Age. Now the storm has subsided but looks like it might be back tomorrow.
I'm not sure if I'm hoping it will be back or not. If it's back, there's a good chance my house will flood. If it doesn't, I have to go to school.
Ah well.
tl;dr My day started off shit and now I'm happy, but unsure of what tomorrow holds.
