That damn noise

As of now, it's around 4AM here in Finland, I'm awake.

There's a goddamn metal-like noise coming from above me. It's really disturbing. It's like a strange screech and then a bang. My mum is awake too because it's really fucking loud.

I really don't know what it is and it's mindfucking me, it's so disturbing.

It's also not helping that it's damn windy out there too so it makes a howling noise after the metal-like noise. Ghosts, I tell you.

Live in a flat? Some idiot pissing about in the flat above you?

If not maybe it's worth checking out where it's coming from with a torch if that's possible - I'd be concerned about a problem with your water, electricity or gas. Or maybe a creature got into your ceiling or roof cavity.

Yeah, I live in a flat. Apparently, it's some metal part of a balcony on the flat above us that's broken. The janitor will fix it in the morning so nothing special. Now I can sleep...

Reminds me of how my ex had a lose drainage pipe outside the wall of her room, it always made a rhythmic thumping sound in high winds, and nobody could be bothered to fix it. It got annoying fast.
