He’s referring to Everbest Printing, a Chinese company who is the printer of the Art of Oddworld book.

Now, if he cares to cite any references naming Everbest as an exploitative company (rather than assuming “chinese = bad”), I will be convinced.

OddBlog: Lorne Lanning has said before that Oddworld will only associate themselves with companies that have no ‘outstanding labour or environmental issues.’ What stance does Ballistic have on such issues, and how do these affect your business methods? What kind of paper do you use in your books—is it environmentally friendly? Why are the books printed in China?

Mark: (irrelevant stuff edited out)... I would never use materials or contract companies that exploited the environment or its workforce. We print in China because of the quality of work we get—and the savings in costs go back into making even high[er] quality books, not into making more money. So the printer is thrilled with us, and we support the local community there with quality work.

I think Moxco was trying to be smart and controversial.

Eh, you can't be smart without having background knowledge on the matter, nor can you be controversial, instead you appear a fool.

What have we learnt Moxy?

If you want to be edgy and contraversial at least say something true.

Like this:

'Lorne Lanning is a batshit fruitcake.'

You can't appear smart when you're talking about a game and can't spell the name of the main heroic race.
Ya just can't. Sorry.

To avoid the risk of appearing ill-informed and unintelligent, I'm saying nothing else in this post.

Then you cannot tell me what I cannot do if you cannot even spell the pronoun declaring me as a subject correctly.

Smart-arsery aside; I would not have thought a one-off misspelling of an unconventional word would have significantly obscured my understanding of the plot and moral of the game. I'm not trying to sound smart, I just think it more than a bit ironic that OWI are profiting from an animal product manufactured in a country with notorious worker rights, where, they admit, they pay shit-all.

I have learnt that, contrary to intentions, recycling someone else's statement and attempting to be humorous does not make make STM look cool.

I contest that. It's a colloquialism at best.

A couple of things here:
Are you suggesting that no company should ever do any business with China because some companies in that country mistreat their workers? By that logic, we shouldn't associate with any company in any country on the planet.

In any case, Mark Snoswell said in that interview that they check out the companies they use to make sure they treat their worked respectably. That the work is also cheap doesn't meant that the workers are undervalued; costs of living are also significantly lower in China.

And, finally, where did any Oddworld game criticise the use of animal products? Bear in mind that the Mudokon tribes hunt animals. And I know from personal experience that Lorne Lanning isn't a vegetarian.

I think the product posters were more a criticism to the way bad-ethics product are marketed as innocent and stuff like that.
I kind of liked the updated mudokon-pop poster from that point of view. It shows how the presented truth is so far from the real truth of how products are really made.

Meh, I dunno.

The dictionary is trying to correct the word "Mudokon" into "Mudroom".... whatever that is.
