So yesterday I invested (too much) money in a 15” Macbook Pro, I've been without a computer for a few weeks now and I needed something for university, as great as that sounds, buying the computer was even better! It was an adventure!
I wanted to have a good chat with a specialist, so instead of buying online, I went to the Apple store in Cardiff, when I got there, there were flowers and sticky notes outside the shop all in dedication to Steve Jobs.
I found exactly what I was looking for, so I wanted to chat with someone and make a purchase, each product in the store was hooked up to an Pad, which would display information about the product that it is linked up to, but to speak to a clerk, you press a button on an Pad, and somebody comes over to assist.
So after a long chat I also bought a mini port to VGA cable (Explanation below) and a case. The assistant had this Ipod touch with a barcode scanner on the back of it, she scanned the cable and bag and after more presses on this Ipod a man comes out of a door with my fresh factory sealed Macbook.
Seeing as the final cost came to £1367.60 there was obviously no way I was going to be walking around Cardiff with all that cash on my person, so naturally I paid with my debit card, again, the assistant pressed some things on her ipod and suddenly I noticed a screen light up on a Chip and Pin.
She asked if I wanted a receipt by email or printed, I asked for both, again I was impressed as suddenly this piece of paper was coming out from underneath a table where products were being shown, I asked how you pay by cash and the assistant was nice enough to show me
You guessed it.......
Works away on her Ipod, and then the side of the table opened full of money!
So that was the end of the magic in the Apple store, they were nice enough to give me what I can only describe as a sports bag with the Apple logo on it, surprisingly they didn't charge me 5P for it! Wales sadly has this new bullshit law thing in place where every shop
MUST charge you 5P for every carrier bag they give you, but it's very confusing!
McDonalds are even charging 5P for their paper bags, but I went into Greggs the other day, I didn't get charged 5P for a paper bag, and in Blur Banana, the girl at the till said that she will give me a paper bag as she would have to charge me 5P for the plastic bags.
So why are McDonalds charging 5P for their paper bags?
Enough of me ranting about that, the explanation for the mini port to VGA cable, I still had the monitor from my old tower lying around in my room being unused, the photograph below will explain my creative way of watching TV and full screen videos in the night, the photograph was taken from my bed.

I'll end this blog by saying, as I type this, I am suffering from the worst hangover I have ever had the misfortune of suffering from. I discovered the joys of Jagermeister last night, had an awesome night, until I got home, I kept vomiting! Today, the vomiting still continues :'(
