If anyone is remotely interested in watching Wimbledon... (even if not, do so just for this...)

The Russian doll, Sharapova, makes weird fucking noises each time she smacks the ball.

After weeks of doing it, no one has lampooned her for it.

Ever.

Go have a look. All I can hear right now is "UUUGHHH!!! UUUGGHGHH!!!! UUUUGGHHHH!!"

It's kind of been a running joke about female tennis for as long as I can remember. I remember a Dutch commercial that featured it but instead of the girls it was the referee who screamed each time one of them hit the ball. And that commercial is well over 10 years old.



This was still advertising dial-up internet when it first started becoming popular. So must have been like... yeah late '90's.

That said, BBC Radio are offering a service where users can dynamically mix the volume of the courtside grunts and commentary.
