Abe Babe doesn't post anymore because she has little to no interest in Oddworld. It's really that simple.

Seems odd, but then, after a few years being here there aren't that many people who post in OnT compared to OT any more.

Well I like to think I'm a lil different than the infamous MS1029 I was interested in OWF really, it seems to have a really dark past that you can't quite understand unless you ask questions rather than silently snooping.

If you read the thread, you'd have read Pilot's post about what happened in the whole Sydney debacle.

It pretty much covers your questions and Joe told you about AbeBabe.

MS1029...I've never seen so many neg-rep.

It was done by an admin. He didn't get to -1337 from normal negrepping.

I suspect an admin might also have edited the negrep text (which you get when you hover your mouse over the green boxes) to be MS-specific.


I also suspect that it might have been me, but I honestly can't remember doing it.

Poor Nate is getting old and senile. Might wanna ask Oddjob for some advice.

I miss those old days, they were fun. I'd hardly describe this place as having a dark past though - The TGA thing was one chapter in OWFs past, but it lived through that, and it also lived through a period where OWI stopped production (what did you guys talk about when that happened, actually?). I find it weird that back in 2008, people still remembered the TGA incident so vividly.

It's nice to see this place still running after such a long time, even if the community here is totally different from the one I knew waaay back when. And hopefully with OWI continuing to do things, it'll continue to thrive.

Anyone remember Mitsur's stories about the Oddworld Forums? Can't remember the name of them but they were sweet.

I think it's funny that if you go back long enough everyone is chirpy and happy, also there are so man little threads about people not being around because of family outings and stuff, how very quaint.

But now this little bawx is flooded with anti-pixels and everyone bite at each others knee caps. But at least we all like each other. I'll fucking kill anyone who disagrees.

I think I'd have found the quaint happytime years intolerable. Looking over the past list of moderators makes me feel ill.

I mean Havoc?! Who's bright idea was that?

Yes. Yes, I do. 'OWF Untold Legend', I think it was; i re-read some of it a while ago and was amazed by how much less awesome it was in retrospect. Still, I'll go fish out the links from my murky domain in a minute.
I actually was gonna mention those stories myself, but decided I couldn't be bothered. But since someone else brought it up, I will.

1. Sydney createth the forums.
2. Sydney banneth unjustly.
3. The First Forum Schism: Alcar cast outeth yon Sydney.
4. OWF gets its first 3p1c N00b, Stingbee, who was the only other person I ever saw using my first avatar, darn him!
5. I changed my avatar.
6. A bloke called Mitsur wrote a story personifying various members of the OWF community and structure, and people ell-oh-elled.
7. The Second Forum Schism: It was discovered that several prominent members of the forum, including some mods, had created a private forum where they could bad-mouth members of OWF. They conspired to take the Michael out of members of OWF by creating a multi together and using it to make jokes at the expense of forum members. This plot was discovered, there was a big fight, several members left, including (but sadly not only) members of the conspiracy. Oh, and Dino got banned; that probably happened before this, actually.
6.5. Dino Got Banned.
8. The soulless multi created by the Bambi Conspiracy was apprehended by law enforcement, incarcerated, used for genetic research, brainwashed into becoming a subservient tool of the government and now works as a reward show host.
9. The 3mp3r0r N00b, MeechShrykul1029, joined and, possibly due to some mild problems with the infraction system, was mutated into a creature so horrible it was locked in an alternate dimension outside of the forums, and since then Nate was worked diligently to keep it there. When his sacrificial goat fund runs out we'll all be doomed, DOOMED I tell ya.
10. OWI redesigns its website, people talk about sex and Abe gets Twitter.

That's a big gulf of "nothing happened" between these two.

Almost three years of nothing between 9 and 10 and a further few years before 8 and 9.

And MS1029 is still a recurring problem.

I joined between 8 and 9, I feel that'd be important enough to get into the history if my welcome threat wasn't so generically shitty.
