Yeh, I'd maybe not go but some girl asked me to (oh and a shit load of pressure too) go, not with her but to go...then she went with her boy friend. I was gonna ask her. Tcha, this is my luck, spend two years working up the courage to ask her out and she gets a boyf. Ha. XD

I spent about £50 on my prom, and about 7 or 8 quid extra for the group photo I had with my friends, which was a huge waste of money considering I don't talk to the majority of them.

... AND THE PROM IS TOMORROW!

But seriously. Who cares? Proms are expensive and retarded, as are just about any school social functions. In a few years every single thing you did and every single person you knew in high school will become completely irrelevant.

My school had a leaver's ball. I had zero interest in going.

I think at my sister's Prom, which isnt really called prom in denmark, one of the schools prettiest and most popular girl got killed by her ex boyfriend. There in the middle of everything.

Its the first time something tragic like that happened at a danish school i think....

This isn't always true. Anyway, I went to my senior prom, got drunk, embarrassed myself and my poor date, the end.

But we did take some very nice photos, which makes my mom and grandma happy to this day. So, even though prom is dumb and a bit of a bore, chances are it's going to make some elder in your life quite happy/proud - and since they won't be around forever, and believe me, it's easier to please them when you're young than when you're older, going to the prom with someone you don't really give a shit about and posing for some pictures for their benefit isn't that bad.

As far as not having a date because you're shy, seek out the female equivalent of yourself, and ask her. Or write her a note. I don't know, birds of a feather. I guess it's probably too late at this point anyway.
