Bringing it back to facebook. That is cold, at least pretend to enjoy my presence

And away again, might get Amnesia tonight or at the weekend but only if I reckon its worth me spending birthday money on.

I still get birthday money. It amounts to nothing compared to the costs of life, but it's the thought that counts.

That thought obviously being "Shit, I have no idea what to get this family member for a present."

My dad forced me to send him a wishlist for christmas, so I sent him a 20-item long list writing all sorts of weird shit. He thought it was funny, and although more than one of the wishes being legit, I still ended up getting money.

Anyway I also get birthday money =D

I wasn't laughing at him getting birthday money, because I still get it too [I'm impossible to buy for], but what I was laughing at was the idea of birthday money being, I don't know...Consequential? I don't think that's the word I want. but whenever I get birthday money I just toss it on top of my earned money in the bank and don't really give it any thought after that.

Then again, I rarely buy anything for myself. I'm pretty boring in that regard.

I usually spend my birthday money on something I've wanted for a while. For an example, I bought the Art of Oddworld -book this year with my birthday money and last year I bought myself a new phone.

I bought an airbrush set for my birthday money. I was going to buy a DS... but then I realized that while both Items are fun, the DS wont help me at all while the airbrush will.
Airbrushing is hard though. Specially since no manual came with it x_x But hurrah for the internet

if i get birthday money its usually accompanied by someone saying "now don't spend that at the pub". my grandparents, on the other hand, tell me to spend it down the pub. they write a message in a card saying something like "get pissed, but not too pissed!"

they're fucking awesome.

T-nex, once you get the hang of your airbrush, try messing around with spray paint. I don't know if you guys have free walls in Denmark, or even what the laws are like towards graffiti there, but it's a lot of fun.

I only graffiti'd twice but I like doing it. Shouldn't though, but you shouldn't eat bad food either.

Thing is with this money is that I'm not well off at all really, so this money, all £70-£80 of it is actually the most money I've ever held in my hand. I don't want to waste it on some crap but I don't want ot just put in in the bank because the opportunity arises just once a year. Also, with the prom coming up and my leaving school, a lot of cash is going into my life at the moment and my parents won't have anything left at the end of this week. So it's extra special I get something good because this will be the last time I can buy something this year.

There are just a few rules to follow when you're putting up street art, whether it's stickers or wheatpasted posters or an actual piece:

-Don't hit small businesses.
-Houses/Personal vehicles are off limits. City vehicles are a go.
-Don't be hateful, and don't go over another persons work. It's rude, and can cause problems.
-Don't copy people, and don't try to be Banksy. You'll just look stupid.

and finally, HONE YOUR SKILLS AT HOME. Don't go out there and cover your town in turds. It's one thing to be abstract, it's another to lack talent completely.

Oh, and if you work with spray paint/adhesives, buy disposable tips/nozzles. That way if you can keep all of your tips separated in a zip lock bag, and if you think you're about to get pinched, ditch the tips. A police officer CANNOT arrest you for graffiti/vandalism even if you have paint all over your hands/clothes if your cans don't have tips. This tactic has kept me out of jail/prevented me from getting a ticket several times.

I actually think spray painting is against the law here... However the are certain places where I think people were hired or at least told to participate in graffiti projects...
Such as the tunnel in the city that I grew up in. It was just a huge graffiti canvas with all sorts of interesting drawing.

Hm, but I also bet graffiti is harder since its less controllable.

I actually really enjoy graffiti though. Every time when I'm on a road trip in Europe I keep a close eye on the bridges, cos there is usually graffiti on the sides under them. Specially in Germany and Austria. Some of it is really quite cool and I wish I could take pics of it.

DI, do you reckon it was all right for me to put a stencil I made saying CONFORM up in big block letters? Because that's what I did, but it was just on some wall, I'd never do it to a company or someones property, it was just some wall. I think in the summer I'm going to make some stencils and try some.

It's pretty much illegal everywhere. The severity of punishment varies, however. The city I currently live in gives you automatic jail time and a fine. But the city where I grew up would often let you off with a warning, and a ticket at worst.

STM, don't ask me for moral advice. You're a minor, so if you get caught you'll probably be okay legally, but your parents won't be thrilled. My mom was/is pretty easy going/supportive about street art because she views it as a form of civil disobedience.

If you have a picture of your art you should put it up, for some reason I think you'd be really good at spray paint, dunno why, a hunch.

When it comes to free hand spray paint work I'm balls. I've got no can control and very little patience. I do some limited stencil work and a lot of paint pen/wheat pasting/sticker stuff. I don't post pictures online because I think that's one of the most idiotic/self incriminating things a person could ever do.

The thing about Banksy is that he has a network of friends, spotters, and lawyers. Plus he's so popular that if any serious charges were to be pressed, there would be a moral outcry from the public.

I've only ever gotten birthday money once. I used to get some good presents because I was under twelve and kids under twelve are easy to buy presents for, but these days basically all I get is a load of second-hand books.
