The near heart compulsion i had came from watching that totheark one where the lights go all fuzzy and he walks along the hallway towards the camera.

I've never heard of it before. So I'm not going to pretend like I know what it is, after I search on google.
But I don't really see what is scary about it. A bunch of grainy home videos?

Slenderman himself is a vaguely creepy idea a bunch of Something Awful Goons haphazardly slapped together based on pictures of him (that they made).

The one thing that fell under consensus (apart from his design) was thus: People die relative to his presence/interaction/whateverthefuck. At best, some of his more legit stories were chilling before Marble Hornets.

Marble Hornets is the blanket term for the Videos SM appears in and some chubby weirdo's responses to them. It follows the friend of a Film Student who discovers SM in one of his buddy's old videos and goes all Sherlock on it.

And they are terrifying.

In other words Slenderman is like an amalgam of all the things the desensitized youth of today fear, so you know he's some creepy shit.

When I first started watching Marble Hornets it was like 2 am. Ten entries later, I knew my insomnia would only get worse. The simplicity of those videos dwarfs The Blair Witch Project in effectiveness.

I was shown Slender Man by my eldest nephew a while ago. From what I saw, he reminded me of the funny fellow that Terry Jones played in the middle of the film in Monty Python.
