I got a riddle bugging me

So yeah, to cut to the chase, I have a riddle some have deemed unsolvable and now I ask the people of OWF if you have an answer.

You are in the desert walking on a path. The path forks into two. One leads to salvation, the other to death. To find out which leads to which, you must ask the blind and lame man in front of you. He knows which leads where, but there is a 50% chance that he won't tell the truth, but he will answer it no matter what. You may ask him one question.

What question can you ask him that will lead you to salvation?

I don't know the answer myself, but one of my friend's friends does.

I'm just wondering how he can know seeing that he's blind and lame. But other than that tell him he'd better know the way because you're dragging the fucking cunt with you.

This sounds a bit like the riddle with the fork in the road and two suspicous-looking men, one of whom always lies while the other tells the truth. You don't know which path leads home but you are only allowed to ask one man one question. That would be easy except you don't know which one is which.

Because the answer to that one is you ask one of the men 'If I asked the other man which way was home, what would he say?'. Then you go in the other direction to that.

You come to a fork in the road where three "suspicious-looking men" stand. There is a sign by the road which reads "One of these paths leads to death. The other leads to glory. You may ask the three men one question to determine which path is which. But be warned; one man always lies, one man always tells the truth, and the other man stabs people who ask difficult questions.
