Cops are useless.

Posted 08-05-2010 at 12:13 AM by Hazel-Rah
What a night I had!

So tonight after work I decided to drive up to my local Target (department store) which is about thirty minutes from my house it was 11 AM and the store was closed but it looked open to me so I got out of my car only to find out when I got up to the door it was closed, then i went back to my car and realized that I had locked not only my keys in the car but also my fucking cell phone (it was in the door pocket) I don't know the phone numbers to any of my friends or family by heart I save it all in the contacts (just moved in and haven't memorized the house number).

I actually considered breaking the window (briefly) but decided to just walk home instead, now there was a police station along the way so I though "oh yes they can give me a ride!" but when I finally got someone's attention who let me in (the door bell was literally detached from the wall and there was no dial tone on the phone in the box) I was told that everyone was out on patrol and the cop I was talking to was the only person there, I asked if he could get someone from another township to drive me hom but he said "it's outside my jurisdiction" O.o!!! WTF

So he calls a cab for me but the douche wanted forty fucking dollars to drive me thirty minutes back to my house and I only had ten on me...so I walked home across the fucking parkway! Now you can't walk across the parkway, it's not only illegal but there's only a very narrow shoulder on the road to walk in and people on the parkway do like 80, so I walked on the other side of the rail in the brush which was on a very steep hill leading down into some eerie fucking swamps and I CLUNG to the rail the whole time. Getting off the parkway was fun too, actually it was kind of like playing Abe's Oddysee, I had to run across the exit ramp real quick so I wouldn't get hit by a car coming down a blind curve going 40 where the speed limit is 15, timing was crucial!

So long story short I spent about two hours walking home tonight, across 9 miles, and the funny thing is most of the trip was enjoyable I was walking through my town at night which is empty and even though I was hoping for it not ONE SINGLE police car stopped to ask me what I was doing even though I saw TWO go by me! I had prepared such a rant.

So yeah I got home and had my mom drive me in her car to pick mine up (she has a spare key to my car) and on the way home I stopped at the bank to get money out for gas and my fucking ATM card got stuck in the machine...that's never happened to me in my life before, I called them and had the card canceled but Jesus Christ what the fuck is wrong with my luck.

So yeah the police despite masquerading as a public service are not, they're fucking useless.

If you actually took the time to read all this, thank you it really means a lot to me, I'm just so angsty right now and sore and tired -_-

Bad luck comes in droves, I know. I remember having to walk through London because my train terminated early and there were no other connections. I had to use the maps on bus stops to orient and guide myself and it took three hours. I was desperate for the toilet the whole way, but the only public restrooms were ones I didn't have change for.

Eventually I got to Alcar's house, but it was about 2 in the morning at this point and no one was awake to let me in. So I stood on the doorstep for three further hours, all the while still desperate for the bog. Eventually his housemate let me in. Turned out I wasn't even expected until the following night.

And that's how OddTour 3b started!

And to think, if you had just knocked in the window you would have been home in half an hour. At the very least you'd at least get that police ride.

And seriously, what kind of retarded car allows you to lock yourself out without the keys. I can't think of any way I would be able to do that with my car, even if I tried..

Of course Havoc doesn't understand how to get locked out of a car. Of course.

Anyway, Cops aren't really obligated to drive you anywhere. If you'd, say, wandered into the station and asked for a ride home because you were drunk, I think that's a different story, but for the most part their attitude usually seems to be "You've got legs, use 'em!"

Damn you have to pay to use public restrooms in London? Eh probably better off after seeing the train station bathrooms in New York.

Yeah Havoc my car is a base model from '05, my mom's car has a feature where the front door doesn't lock if the key's in the ignition but not mine.

You should have asked them to open your car door for you.

Did you actually tell the cops that you were locked out your car or did you just go ahead and ask them if you could get you a ride home? Because I would've thought they'd helped you if you explained the whole story. :/

Hulaabeo: Totally dude

Stranger4002: I told the guy at the station i got locked iout of my car which is up the road and he offered to call me a cab >_> it was a really small town so I kind of expected this after opening the call box and seeing a detached door bell and non-working phone. IDK did I really have to suggest the notion that he come up the street and unlock my door? The guy was pretty damn young but really how unprofessional!

Seriously though I was banging on the door and looking for an open window to yell in, Christ. Also I don't really believe all Cops are useless, but I do believe that there must actually be something wrong with their state of minds to want to be in such a line of work.

I have an innate enmity for the police. Not once have I had a good experience with them.
My granddad on my mother's side was in the police force most of his life, and he epitomized the personalities you see in that field. Racist, overly authoritative, arrogant pricks. The bullies in highschool. They don't have a brain in their head and they know it, so they make a living using their brawn (the granted amnesty of beating in the skulls of brown people is just a bonus).

There are good cops, yes, but they're an anomaly and are usually coaxed into early retirement or eventually integrated with their less respectable peers.

I once voiced these complaints to granddad, and he assured me that getting on the wrong side of the cops is not advised - no matter how much you hate them. He basically admitted to me that police officers can and will manipulate the law to accommodate their need to arrest anyone that challenges their authority. Even if you aren't actually breaking the law, they can still arrest you under some of the dumbest pretenses.

Yeah, he liked me. Or at least I think he did, he was quite senile by then. He sent me a package in the mail not a few years ago. In it was a card with the Morse code alphabet and a note attached that read "Chris, memorize this. It will keep you out of infantry".

He's either dead or a vegetable these days. Not that there's much difference.

I had this idea when I was about 16. I memorised almost every character in morse code so that if I ever had to go into the forces, I could just work in communications or something (so I didn't get shot at). I can still remember most of it, and as of yet, it has not come in handy.
