Okay so, last night I bought a bag of chips (fries, for you Americans), and ate most of that bitch up. I bought too much so couldn't finish them, so fired them in the bin.

This morning, threw a soda can in the bin. I looked at the remnants of my meal from the night before, only to discover it had become festered in maggots.

Makes me wonder: Did I fucking eat any of those damn eggs?

i would have thought the maggots were already in the bin before you chucked the chips. seems odd they'd hatch so quick, or that you'd be given a bag of chips complete with fly eggs.

Maggots hatch and grow pretty quickly. That's something that could easily happen overnight. But the likelihood that flies would just lay eggs in your chips beforehand is pretty slim. Flies don't usually oviposit on vegetables, least of all if they're still fresh and edible. They prefer rotting detritus and carrion. Chances are the eggs/maggots were already in the bin, and not on your chips.
