For the record "I am a PC" is one of the most stupid catchphrases ever invented.

For another thing, these '7 second adverts' are way too overloaded with information. Some of them talk so fast that it's impossible to hear what they are saying clearly.

What do you think?

I guess I don't give too much thought as to the value of Microsoft's ad campaigns. This blog could change that. It just might could.

The 'I'm a PC' adverts are a reaction to Mac's 'I'm a Mac' adverts; therefore it was Mac who came up with the stupid catchphrase first. As for the seven second adverts, they are meant to tell you what Windows Seven can do; not how to do it.

After giving this ad campaign much thought I can only come to the conclusion that it is indeed ill-advised. It seems to be a knee-jerk reaction to Apple's much more popular ads, putting them on the defensive. Much akin to the AT&T Luke Wilson ads, which does nothing more than show the world how fat Luke Wilson got.
