If you're really careful, you could lay them out in a grid shape as pixels and slowly swap different colours around to make patterns move.

I was thinking of that. The video doesn't really have to be longer than 20 secs anyway, so I guess it's kinda doable(though its gonna be hard).

You'll struggle to pick up smooth m&ms with tweezers. If you place a drinking straw on top of one and then suck air up in to it, you can easily pick up and place down an m&m in place.

@nate. thanks for the advice I'm thinking I could maybe also take some clay, or something else that's sticky like tape, or soft glue, so I just have to point on the mm's.

Ok, so I make the pixel-square-like stopmotion that Nate suggested.... But I either bluescreen or greenscreen it(the only bad thing with this is that I cant use the respective m&m's then. But no great loss).

And AFTER I'm done. I'll film my wall, and show off this new poster I got! Which will be a motion tracking of the stopmotion, making it look like it stands in one place while also being animated.
