Don't you hate it when people post obnoxious text at the top of their blog and you have to scroll past it every time you want to read what they've posted? Man, I really hate that.

New Cameras and Folded PizzasToday I got this year's first birthday present, a week early; my mum bought me a camera (it is the most expensive present she's even brought me; as a general rule, anything over £100 I have to save up for and buy myself, but I'm reaching the MANLY age of 21 this year, so she offered to buy me something more expensive .)
Here is a picture of said camera. (If you can think of a better way of taking a photo of a camera using the camera, I'd like to hear it!) http://www.oddworldforums.net/blog_a...1&d=1268272015 (I look like an unshaven borg.) It's 12.1 megapixels and has a super macro mode, which basically means I can zoom in really, really close, only I haven't worked out how yet, hence blurry photo above. It's very similar to camera the camera which my mum bought last year, which she let me use in Jordan (cf. about three blogs back) which, coincidentally, is the camera I used to learn photography and to enjoy photography (I think that sentence makes sense but it is nearly 2AM). Only it's a lot better and was about £100 cheaper 'cus it was on sale. Plus I got a case and a memory card and a spare battery as a package and the woman who sold it gave me forty free prints since it's my birthday next week (I like that woman! ) Anyway, I like it 'cus it has a handy dial on the top with things like 'AUTO' and 'Indoor mode' and 'night mode' and 'sunset mode' and other cool things. (This was taken in sunset mode on my mum's camera; it's basically the ultimate cheat-mode for amateur photography.) In other news, we also went into Frankie and Benny's for lunch and I finally fulfilled my long-term commitment to try a folded pizza, since seeing my brother-in-law order one many years ago (honestly, I don't know why I failed to try one sooner). It was the 'New Yorker' one from the Frankie and Benny's menu and it was Very Tasty. I'll give it the highest compliment we English are able to give, and say I'd have it again. So that is both hunky and dory. So it was a good day, really. Also, I found a CD I'd considered buying for a while and it was very cheap, so I bought it. ('Hit Parade' by Audio Adrenaline. I'm about half-way through it right now, but I'll probably finish it on the morrow.) Once again, another planned short blog that ended up really long. When I start writing novels, I'll be the bane of every editor who sees me coming. EDIT: I worked out how to turn on Super Macro Mode! It is incredibly close zoom, as in all-but-touching-the-subject close, and that isn't exaggerating. So I used it to take a photo of the most colourful thing I could see that wouldn't be ruined by my lamplight. http://www.oddworldforums.net/blog_a...1&d=1268273616 |
