Berlin - A shoddy nice place

Hey,
Well I just returned late from conducting historical studies in Berlin, I had to go to the area around check point Charlie and spent nights in a hotel in Merringdamm, a lot of the travel was focused primarily on the trains and underground systems, I was amazed at how well they run, in my three days there, only one train was terminated and they sent another one to take the passengers in something like four minutes.
There was one specific station I believe called Haschelles Kor which looked like a wing of FeeCo depot.
The only problem was the city was really divided in two, all the nice parts and the not so nice parts thrown in together, I also thought it to be quite tacky with bratwurst vendors on every corner and a large collection of Romanians selling people trinkets and cossack hats.
Overall I enjoyed the stay in particular the Reichstag the tower, if you've been up it, you will know to be quite spectacular.
