Newsbrief: MAN HAS FUN

I just came back from AM/PM which here in Americaburg is a gas station/convenience market. I went in to buy an orange soda and burrito- while standing in line I was noticing that there was this British man standing at the slot machines next to the door trying to figure out how to play. I thought it was funny, because it seemed that by the look on his face he was quite amused that he was gambling in a mini market. More than once he asked the clerk how to operate the machine; I could tell from the context of the exciting gaming experience he was having and his accent that he was probably here visiting.

We have slot machines in our convenience stores. And bars. And grocery stores.

It was a larf.

I remember when Pennsylvania used to be such a wild gal. Or at least the history books do.

You put your money in. Sometimes the machine malfunctions and it spits money back out.

Nah, but really... the idea is to pull the lever and wave your arms around all excitedly as the reels spin like that old lady over there.

Today's slot machines are much more sophisticated, they're called Video Poker games; the idea behind these is that you don't actually need to sit at a table and play cards. Instead, you get to sit down and pretend to play cards as they appear on a small TV screen in front of you. Virtual Reality Poker.
