Really? The LGBT meetings I attend are full of gorgeous lesbians, it's usually the scary butch ones who miss out on them to go and bitch to eachother how evil and oppresive men are over at the Feminist society.

Note: My brash generalizations only apply to situations where women are treated as equally as men on all things important and just decide to protest for the hell of it. I'd be very quick to join a feminist society in any situation where the playing field was anything less than even.

I believe that anybody who finds themselves in any kind of social minority has an obligation to fight for and celebrate the rights of that minority. It's really only applied prudency.

Both and much more? Student minority societies are set up to be social networks on campus to help minority students find their feet and celebrate the history of whatever it's about. Also these are students, so they're people to get drunk with too.

Glasgow is a big university so we have a lot of minority student societies. The Islamic and Jewish society shared a jumbo stall at freshers week this year, the awkward looks they were giving eachother were hilarious.

This makes me re-think my decision to abstain from University.
