A sheer coincidence that it seemed like a battlefield to you. When I listened to the fireworks, and put aside the image, it sounded very much like a battlefield. I was tempted to record the sound and turn it into a war ambient noise.

The last two years I've been pretty bored with fireworks. They don't excite me like they used to.
And I feel for you. I was sat alone at home 'cus my parents were at a dinner and my sister n' fiance(e) (he proposed on a snowy Christmas Eve in the Scottish countryside, the charmer) were clubbing, neither of which is an activity I enjoy.

But yeah, i hate it when people make you feel bad for expressing your opinions. I'm 20, and I'm going to see Avatar hopefully within the next two weeks!

for some resaon i never was a fan of fireworks not even when i was little but i liked that i was allowed to stay awake legally

... i didn't even talk much about the movie because i knew they were not into stuff like that xD but it's my own fault xD
