Whilst I agree that it wouldn't be much good if the forum degenerated into a porn-bin, I also feel that it is wrong to force your own strong Christian views on atheists/people of other religions who's rights are equal to yours. I realise that it is against the forum rules to post pornographic material, but the point that you are here to enforce these rules and not impose your own remains, which is what what you have written seems to imply that you are doing.
Now, if I have misinterpreted your comment, or if I misunderstand the amount of power a moderator has, I apologise, but if not, I stand by what I say.

I don't believe I enforce the rules any more or less than I ought to as moderator. I do allow stuff that I wouldn't if I was following my own morals.

I said that in response to a very few comments here, in the thread and in EL that make fun of my nazi-level regime, even though it wasn't even me who deleted the thread, and several other people have said they supported Nate's decision (though I'll happily say I would have done the same thing if I'd got there first). Rather than being turned into a scape-goat, I thought I'd get the whole deal over and a make a wittily ironic comment about it.

I see now. I'd back you up on the decision on removing the thread, just my principles urged me to post after I misinterpreted your comment. I apologise for the misunderstanding.
