Fucking Digital Switchover

So we bought another digibox today for the TV in my room, cause I don't have digital so need to sort this shit out.

Fucking pointless fucking ballsup. Don't see the fucking point in the siwtchover when the picture improvement, though noticeable, is hardly worth the hassle and cost.

Suffice to say the digibox didn't fucking work. Wired it up every way possible, nothing. All that we've succeed to do is fucking break a video recorder, and lose the channel for the video so even with a spare recorder in place the channel is gone and I can't watch VCRs or DVDs, because if I had a VCR or a DVD player plugged in it runs on channel 9 and channel 9 is now fucking bust.

Really fucking pissed off. Waste of time and money, and only worse off now.

	I hate digital television. All those channels, and there's nothing on. I'm dreading the whole country going digital. I'm going to miss being able to switch past 5 so that it all goes fuzzy.

	I realised not too long ago that I remembered that too. It felt weird to recall the launch of a terrestrial channel, but there you go.

	Everyone knows the reason they're switching to digital is so the government can more effectively beam mind-altering rays into your head. Srsly guys. Actually I hate digitized TV as well. Alot. Not for any good reason, just because I hate when the official pplz make you change something so minute "by law". It makes me highly suspicious and confused.

	It's not so much by law as it is the old service being retired. You aren't forced to switch to digital, but it helps if you want to keep watching TV.

	Not to be contrary, but yes, it's by law. The purpose of the switch is to free up the analog airwaves for government and emergency usage. One of the driving forces of the switch is that after a bombing of a British subway, Scotland Yard had to actually steal bandwidth to get out there emergency broadcasts, as there wasn't enough readily available to them.

	It is indeed by law, they even made the dick move of telling you it was 'by law' on a regular basis. You couldn't turn on the TV over here without seeing one of those non-threatening, 20-something actors reminding you to switch over if you haven't already. "And remember, if you don't switch over, you are clearly a flag-burning communist and I hate you"

	Once again I assume the world is more benign than it really is. One of these days I'll be cuddling a kid's hamster, and it will turn out to be venomous and highly aggressive. I'll add to my will the request that the OWF holds a competition to decide what to write on my gravestone.

	i also remember channel 5 first airing. what a let down. i also remember being the one that had to get up and change the channel on the telly.
