Now that I live in Suburbia I have the pleasure of answering my door to all the trick or treaters. I've been having some of the best mannered kids showing up at my door tonight; a great majority of them so far have asked for candy "please" with a cheerful thank you as they run off to their parents standing out at the sidewalk.

It's only 7:40 here.... the big kids haven't started showing up yet.

On another note, I just came back from the store with my younger sister. We went down there to pick up some eggs and oil to bake a cake... now ordinarily I wear blue jeans and an untucked snug t shirt with a pair of black converse, and tonight is no exception. Funny thing is that I've had a surprising handful of compliments on my 'costume' with a couple of people asking, "Wow, do you normally do your hair like that?"

The stark truth is Yes, I am wearing a costume. Happy Halloween, Justin.

aww.

quirks make a person so don't change your hair style or out. i've become recognisable for wearing checkered jackets all the time, thus receiving lumberjack jokes.

you wear what you want. don't give a shit about fashion or social expectations (visibly).

I always had the piss ripped out of me for a similar reason, though I have, since being an adolescent, always wore a tatty old beige hunting jacket (unless I was too warm). I still do, only now I also get ridiculed for being expressive when I'm angry and talking with my hands. I've always done that, so I don't know why it's started all of a sudden.

Fantastic. Best thing is, I have a tatty old Sweep from when I was little, so all I need now is to construct a box to hide my arm in, and I'm all set. And one of those funny-looking neckbeards.

Yeah, say that again. Circumstance buddy- circumstance. I don't live in the hippest of places but there sure are a lot of nice people around. This forum is one small portal that I have into the world of people my age.

I was just messing with you. I totally understand that life is sometimes just a result of cirumstance. I always thought the landscapes of the American South West were just gorgeous and would love to pay that region a visit sometime.
