Horrible

Today was one of the worst days of my life.

We've had to put our cat to sleep. To some people this may not seem so disasterous but it's just not the same situation.

She was nearly 21 years old. I've known her all my life. My first word was "cat" for fuck's sake. I'm an only child, so in many ways she was the closest I had to a sibling.I've never considered any of our cats as just pets, they've always been true family.

All but 2 years of my life w've had 2 cats. One of our cats who was one year older than our 20-year old cat, died 8 years ago aged 14. Another cat literally turned up at our door 2 years later and we've had him since. I think he gave our eldest cat a new lease on life. Now we've just got him.
