The Simpsons Game - My Review

This game wasn't really what I was expecting.

While it's not awful or anything like that, it's not particularly fun, interesting or special. Compared to earlier Simpsons games, it's really lacking in the humour department - the first cut-scene is incredibly lame and unfunny. Really, really bad.

The graphics are beautiful though; it's amazing how they made them 3-D but with 2-D graphics. Easily the best graphics on any Simpsons game yet.
If Hit and Run had 2-D graphics like this one, then I'd easily prefer that game over this, because that game was more fun, and had way better more interesting missions. But still, I don't regret buying this (hey, it's The Simpsons.)

It has Cel shading, something any animated game should have had.

anyways, how's the gameplay? I also understand a lot of the humour is a parody of other video games, so you may not get some of the jokes.

The gameplay isn't as fun as I'm sure it could've been. The camera movement is awkward and annoying, and there's hardly any cool moves you can do.

Though the parodies of video games like "Medal of Homer" and "Grand Theft Scratchy" are very clever, I will admit. And I love it how a thing pops up with Comic Book Guy explaining all the cliches of the game -- "Ooh, 'double jump'. How original".

I have to say that the Japanese level looks the most funny, Katamari Milhouse FTW.
