Dragonball Z: The Lost Episode

I just found a very awesome thing on youtube. Apparently there was a DBZ videogame in Japan that featured actual animated footage that acted like cutscenes to help the story along. These cutscenes were drawn and animated in the exact same way as the original series.

The footage was later released as a short DBZ movie, but never dubbed or subtitled. A group of people, including someone who actually produced the music for the original episodes, are reworking that old Japanese footage with new music and English voices.

You have to keep in mind that this is a fan project but even then, a lot of the voices in this thing are almost completely the same as the original English versions from the original episodes. Goku and Vegeta especially sound spot on. Gohan not so much and Trunks sounds a little gay.

In any case, for old times sake, the first two parts of the lost DBZ episode: DBZ: The Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans.

I own the original cartridge. The NES game Dragonball Z Gaiden. I have a neo-fami which I can play it with. The best thing about the real DBZ NES games is that the in-game save actually works. It helps not having to type in those long passwords.

Kudos for finding the videos btw.

I tried finding the vBulletin option to control how many blog entries show up on the front page, but there is actually no such fucking thing. Retards.

I did change how many blog entries show up when you're searching through them. I changed it from 5 (which was stupid) to 10, but I’m sure it could afford to go higher still. All in favour…
