Scientifically speaking, slugs have absolutely no problem with having their genitalia removed by any means because they are so large in the first place that slugs never evolved any of the negative feelings towards their penis that we suffer from. They don’t ever feel as though theirs is inadequately small, they aren’t jealous of the penises and others, and they never even glance curiously at each other in the showers.

In fact, slugs are almost completely blazé about their penises, except when it comes to sexual matters (which to be fair is their only purpose in slugs). Because their dicks are so large, their weight increases drastically when they are unfurled, which is why they need to dangle from overhangs to procreate, lests they actually sink into the substrate during copulation and find themselves unable to get out again (slugs can only dig down, not up).
