Vegetarian Dishes
Posted 07-04-2009 at 11:23 AM by Fuzzle Guy
I can’t stand them. My Mum has insisted on me eating this vegetable bake she made.
It’s not that I hate vegetables, it’s that I think vegetables are there only to enhance a meal, not to be the meal itself. I spend the whole time poking around the meal looking for something that might even resemble meat. Something that won’t just turn into mush the moment it touches my teeth. Meat is needed to complete a meal. If it weren’t for the morality issue, I’m quite sure nobody would go into a café and ask for a BLT without the B. The morality issue isn’t something that particularly bothers me directly. I’ve never once thought “I can’t do this because animals died for it.” In fact, I’ve thought the exact opposite. I went to Manchester last week for a concert and stayed in a hotel opposite the Trafford centre. I had dinner on Friday night in the Trafford Centre, a Spanish Tapas bar, La Tasca or something. My Mum ordered a dish that was huge, for us to share. I didn’t realise it was this big, and did not realise it was for us to share, so I ordered another dish of spare ribs and then my Mum, for whatever reason, ordered another vegetarian dish for herself. When the dishes arrived we were like D: We were never going to get through all that. I felt it was my duty to eat all the meat first, in case I was too stuffed to eat any of it after eating the other things like the garlic mushrooms or the eggplant dickmunch or something. I didn’t want the animal to have died. Been murdered, and just to be thrown in the bin because I failed to eat it. It would have died for nothing. They’re such noble creatures really. They die to keep us alive. Sometimes simply to give us luxury. God bless the animal kingdom! |
