My Fifth Blog! Watched "Alien" again!

Damn good film. The chestburster scene and the bit at the end with the Alien in the shuttle were great.

I'd give Alien a 8/10. It's a good film with a great cast and excellent filmwork, given that this is way before CGI.

Aliens gets a 9/10 for me, simply because it's an amazing sequel that breaks all the boundaries of the first film. We have soldiers, an Alien queen, a giant robot... it's just epic in every way

Alien 3 would get a 7/10 for me. The energy just felt a bit lacking in this film. The foreshadowing was too much as well, the plot twist was obvious.

Alien Resurrection gets a 8.5/10 from me. I really liked seeing Ripley kicking ass again, and I especially liked Winona Ryder's character. It's nice to have a good female lead besides Sigourney.

On another note, Predator gets a 8.5/10 from me, and Predator 2 gets a 8.75/10. Haven't seen AVP or AVP2 yet.

So, Any thoughts?

Alien 3 just seemed a bit pointless to me (ie. flogging a dead horse).
Plus, there was only one Alien compared to the army that was in Aliens. Also, the lack of weapons really did make me think (budget cuts).

The only good thing about Alien 3 was that it set-up Alien Resurrection quite well. Alien Resurrection was probably second best, compared to Aliens. I liked Ron Perlman and his gang of bandits

i couldnt get into Alien Resurrection, but my favourite would be Alien. one of my favourite scenes being where the android loses it.

Yes, Res was quite awesome. I loved the scene with all the failed clone experiments. And who couldn't love "Father's dead, asshole."

Also, I know the woman who played the colonist in Aliens who begs for suicide.
