Tonight it's my cousin's 30th birthday and were going to a Japanese restaurant in Manchester, and I was wondering if anyone could advise me a good (not that mediocre Japanese meals exist) Japanese meal?

Deep fried Broccoli and shrimp. I think it's called Tempuri/Tampuri. Very delicious and bad for you.

The deep fried vege/other food stuffs is called Tempura and it is pretty god damn good.

Just get something which sounds good to eat. None of us here know what you like and don't like to eat. ^_^ But let us know what you had and what you though. Japanese food is the best!

However, don't pile on the wasabi. X_x

I hate wasabi, but alot of people don't. But if you eat alot of it in one go it is pretty vile.

And that's right, it's wah-sah-bee, not warh-saar-bee like your prononce on the phone, Charlie. :P

Wasabi+Lemon=Congratulatios. You're a gullible buffoon.

Sushi is tops, but get a taste for what you like and try to avoid everything that's sweet. It'll make you look like a pretentious hipster.

I had sushi yesterday =) Im member of a japanese-danish organisation, where we hold japanese-related events. And yesterday was sushi-makings day Learned how to do it the real way.

Anyway... im not sure that deepfried food is actually japanese.
We have alot of 'chinse' stores here, but in fact it's all the usual thai and vietnamese food. I think japanese food is generally more healthy, and contains more fish. I might be wrong though. I'm not an expert at all in these things.
