The Police......They Don't Like Me

The police have been paying regular visits to my shop lately, as they have been trying to apprehend one of the employees. He apparently has a warrant out for his arrest on a domestic violence charge and they have been trying to catch up with him for a while. The problem is that he is one of my canvassers (door to door appointment setter) and is never in the office. In fact, upon learning that the police keep coming here, he won't come to the shop at all. He has another employee pick him up on the way out to whatever city we are working in that day.
Now, the police keep coming up here, expecting to find him. And I keep telling them that he works out in the field. But for some reason, they seem to think that I'm trying to hide him from them. I've given them every piece of information they asked for, I even offered to tell them what street he was working on, but none of this makes them happy. They can't seem to find the time to drive to the fucking street that he is on, but they certainly have the time to come up here and talk to me as if I were a criminal every goddamn day.
So, the other day they come up and they ask me to set him up. They tell me to tell him that I am having a meeting and that he needs to be there. I grudgingly agree to this. However, I can't go through with it. The detectives show up the next day and I tell them that I apologize but it's just a bit too deceitful for me. I then tell them that I can have them talk to the guy who picks him up, as he hasn't left yet. As I am taking them outside to where he is, (along with the entire sales team and the owner) I try to explain to the woman that it just made me feel very weird, trying to set him up the way were originally talking about.
This is when things got ugly.
There are two detectives. A man and a woman. The lady starts giving me some shit about how I have been very unhelpful from the start. I stop in my tracks, amazed at the audacity of this woman. I ask her, "Is this my job? Is it my job to track people down for you? I'm currently taking you to the person who is supposed to pick him up within the next half an hour, and I'm being unhelpful?"
The male cop tells me not to make a scene. Threateningly. I tell him that "The two of you come here every day and talk to me like I'm some sort of ass-hole. If you were to have treated me with even a modicum of respect, you may have found me more eager to help. But you haven't, so I'm done." I start walking back towards the door to go back into the building when the male cop steps in front of the door and says "We can handle this a different way, if you want".
I don't know if I've mentioned this, but I have a temper. And when I get pissed I tend to do things that some people might mistake as bravery. Really, it's just stupidity.
After he says this to me, I just sort of see red. I looked at him and said "Oh, fuck. Just arrest me then", and I held my hands out for him. He just stood there staring at me until I said "Yeah, I thought not", and walked around him to go back into the building.
