Speaking of Double Fine..

Much like our beloved OANST, I'm a rabid Tim Schafer fan. I periodically browse the Double Fine website, and after about three weeks of poking and prodding, my better half managed to talk me into sending my art portfolio in.

Now, I know they're not actively looking to hire a new art department slave, but she feels it's worth a shot. I don't have any of my "serious" work online because I honestly do take some of it seriously, and the possibility of being mocked or meh'd terrifies me. Everything I've ever posted has been fueled by alcohol and indifference.

The stuff I sent in is different. It's hard to explain. The only reason I'm even posting this is because of OANST. I was browsing his blog, and I saw that he had talked to Double Fine. If that was blog worthy, then this must be. It has to be.

Anyway, I doubt I'll even get a response. And even if I do, Gmail with probably filter it as spam. Or the internet will explode.

It will be awesome if you get to work at Double Fine, and not just because you’ll be able to give us insider knowledge: it will be awesome for you. Many things will be awesome for you, because your art will take you some place in life that you cherish, and which doesn’t involve amusing hospital stories. Unless you want it to.

I can only hope that my insider knowledge as a nurse will lead Tim Schafer to make a game about sick people.
