Crazy People That Happen To Me IV

When I was 18 (about 9 years ago) I worked the midnight shift at a 7/11. For those who aren't familiar, this is a kind of all night party store. I worked at one that sold liquor but the majority do not.

There was this bum who would come in a few times a week and hang out for about a half an hour at a time. It was the middle of an extremely cold winter so I didn't try to get rid of him or anything. He seemed fairly harmless. But one night he comes in and purchases a fifth of vodka (some generic cheap kind) and begins drinking it inside the store. I tell him that he can't do that but he just ignores me and continues drinking. Customers are beginning to stare and are looking uncomfortable so I decide to be a bit more forceful. I tell him to get out or I am going to call the police. He starts getting belligerent with me and telling me that he isn't going to leave.

At this point, I am beginning to get fed up with this. So I come around from behind the counter and pick up his backpack and coat (which he had taken off and left by the door) and I toss them out into the parking lot. I come back in and tell him "Look. You're halfway there! Now get the fuck out!" He stamps out the door to get his stuff and then comes back in with it. Now, he is irate. I warn that this is his last chance before I call the cops, and turn to ring up a customer. As soon as I turn my back on him he runs behind the counter, grabs me, starts trying to bash me against the wall. He isn't doing a very good job, however.

The real turning point here is when a couple of guys that I went to high school with (not friends or anything. Just guys I saw around) rush behind and beat the fucking shit out of him. I mean, they really fucked this guy up. The only injury I received was when my hand was nicked by one of the guys' feet as he kicked the bum.

After a minute or so he broke free and staggered out the door. The two school mates followed after him as I called the police. Once I was off the phone I noticed that there was an explosion of blood on the wall and ground so I got the mop out and cleaned it up. As I was finishing up another bum walked in. I saw that her coat was rather flimsy and decided that she might be in need of a better coat and maybe some vodka as well. So I gave her bum #1's.
