I am wondering how to extract the music from ABe's Oddysee...I know it's in there somewhere, I just don't know how to get to it...Do you have any idea?..

look up media files on the cd, get online, if you have XP, that means that if you click on a file, it will come up with something that lets you search the net for a proper program to use the file in a proper way

at least, that's how i think you do it

some body else might know more

I've looked for the media files on the cd, but part of my problem is I don't know where they are, or how they are encoded...

Wow! Thanks! I really don't get why OWI don't release all these games' soundtracks for purchase.

As cliche as the answer is...because no one asked.

I really, really wish I could find the soundtrack for Stranger's Wrath. The sample music on the official site is nice and all, but I wouldn't mind having it all.

I love the OW music. It's a pity that official soundtracks aren't released. Although OWI are awesome for putting mp3s on their site of the Stranger music.

The only official soundtrack released was for Abe's Oddysee. Or Abe A-go-go in Japan. As the soundtrack is Japanese. But video game music is hugely popular in Japan, which is probably why the soundtrack was released there instead of receiving a US release.

Speaking of Stranger's Wrath music... I got all excited at the "Official" Stranger's Wrath site because it reported "Download the complete soundtrack in MP3 format." I clicked the link and it was just the 9 select songs on Oddworld.com - that was an extreme disappointment. -_-;;

I guess in Stranger's case that "is" the entire soundtrack.

As a fan of video game music, some official OSTs have all of the tracks on them, while others don't include all of the music. An example of this is the Silent Hill OSTs, there is a lot of stuff that isn't included on them. Although not overly common, nine songs really isn't all that unusual for a OST that doesn't include every piece of music, especially for a game like Stranger.

If you do manage to get the entire music from a game, most of the tracks will be 20 seconds long or just a short 5 second sting.

Examples: Tomb Raider 2 soundtrack taken off the CDROM had only about 5 full-length musical tracks and about 50 short ones.

Similar for many of the Lucasarts soundtracks which are available for download.
