I just watched season three of LOST on dvd.

Yeah, still love it.
Finally! It's nice to see someone who shares the same love for that show. I have to say "Through the Looking Glass," is some of the finest television writing and execution I've ever seen. Although, that goes for the series as a whole too.

I think 'the man behind the curtain' was my favorite.

Then again, I've been in love/obsessed with 'the others' since they made their first appearance.

Ben is just so...amazing. According to the commentary, season 4 will be pretty dharma initiative flashback-heavy. This pleases me greatly.

I was sad to see Tom Friendly bite it, though. He's been one of my favorite character actors for years.

Also, I love Hurley more than ever. And I still hate Charlie.

Oh, one more also:

I think that the woman that plays Juliette is the most beautiful woman I've ever laid eyes on.

What people see in Lost I just cannot.

Same with Heroes and Prison Break. Guess I just don't like TV that much.

I watched Blade Runner yesterday, seeing the new box set of it shocked me quitesome. too extravagant...

I was the same way until I sat down and watched season one on DVD.

By the time season two rolled around, and they started focusing less on the supernatural and more on strange coincidences, I was in love.

As far as Blade Runner goes, yeah, it's tits.

The book it was based on [Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep] was one of my favorites when I was about 13. Philip K. Dick has to be one of my all time favorite authors.

EDIT: jezz, how do you know what person I was talking about? Could of been anyone, and quite a lot of people killed others in that film. That movie has been around for a while :/

I'm finally getting around to watching the second half of the final season of Alias (I originally watched the first half in 2005). Thus far they're doing a brilliant job of bringing back old characters and plot lines. I have absolutely no idea where they're going with this but I'm looking forward to finding out.

What do people not understand about posting spoilers?

Jesus.

I loved 28 weeks. 28 Days was great, but this is probably one of the best sequels in modern-horror history. I went and saw it in theaters, and it got a really big emotional response out of me.

I mean, the "typhoid Mary" situation? Brilliant.

Right I am getting pissed off with films being spoilt as DI said. We have spoiler tags:

Dexter is amazing.

I was sad when/with the way The Sopranos ended, but Dexter gave me something new to latch on to.

I watch Dexter but I am almost ashamed to admit it. That show switches from decent writing to mediocre to awful 6 or 7 times an episode. Dexter himself is the only character that is even remotely well written (which is good since he's the title character) but all the other characters are written like a very subtle comedy. Subtle as in this horrible fucking writing must be some kind of inside joke.

In the last week or so I have seen:

I Am Legend
Groundhog Day
Pan's Labrynth
28 Days Later

Enjoyed all of them. IAL was pretty sweet, although I'm not too sure what I thought about the ending. I can't believe Mike Patton did the screams, growls, etc. of the infected people and no one told me! I kind of feel I have to watch it again now because of that.
I'd seen Groundhog Day as a kid, but couldn't remember much. It got me thinking, what would I do in that situation. Pretty fun to think about. My friends say they'd like to live in a 'groundhog year', but I think that would be too long, I would prefer a week or a month, so you can plan stuff out better, and too many cause and effects wouldn't ruin everything.
Pan's Labrynth was interesting. And surprisingly brutal at parts. If you've seen it you'll probably know what part I mean. I looked it up afterwards, and my idea of what happened with the 'different worlds' wasn't what others thought, but I still think it might be right.
28 Days Later was awesome. I'd been meaning to see it since it came out (I know, I'm very slow sometimes) but after seeing IAL, someone referenced it and almost spoiled it for me so I thought I'd better get into it. Very cool, I like that it really had it's own style, compared to other 'zombie' movies. Also amazingly brutal at times. The note the main guy got from his parents was quite moving.

Oh and *spoils all the movies for everyone to follow the crowd*

And 28 Days Later has Godspeed You! Black Emperor in it! Yay it's a great movie. As for Pan's Labyrinth, yeah, it was pretty fucking violent, I mean the part where that guy got bottled in the face I sat there pretty shocked.

(I just wanted to use the spoiler tags)

True, I actually hate pretty much all the characters on the show except for Dexter (his sister, Dokes, LaGuerta, Masuka and that southamerican Angel guy just to name a few... most of them) but it's still high on the list of TV shows that I like. Perhaps the books were written better?

Anywho, I finished watching season 2 now, and even though I know another series would completely ruin it, I'd still watch it.

Yeah, that's the part I mean. That's one of the most violent things I've ever seen in film.

Oh and yeah it does. Although I still think they have a terrible name, I'm now more tempted to try them out. I also thought the use of music in the mansion scene was amazing, the huge crescendo.

There's going to be a film? Jesus Christ. That's fucked up.

I saw I Am Legend earlier in the week, and it's amazing! You all should go out and watch it, because IMO it's the best film Will Smith has ever done.

I also saw St. Trinians... It was crap really. It'll be good for pre-teens, horny boys and horny paedophiles. About 20 girls running around in tiny skirts, giggling and blowing things up. Just trash.

Although Russel Brand wa sin it for about 20 mins... Phwoar.

^ Agreed, though that's probably my genitalia talking.

I thought I Am Legend was a pretty good movie, especially in the Subliminal hints to current occurrences on our Earth, the jolts I got from the very human creatures in the movie, and the way the movie jerked to and fro during the whole thing. A pretty good movie in my book.

I also just got the first two seasons of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. I love that show. It's just got a humor that is hard to not laugh at, though you might be ashamed to. I'm also watching that Pushing Daisies show too. Good shit, I gotta say.

Hah-hah! I for one welcome any sentimental, unhelpful media hysteria that can be whipped-up by this case of parental negligence.

Saying that, I've said from the beginning that the parents did her in. Lets just wait and see. I got money riding on this!

Since people have been talking telly (count me in the Lost-is-fucking-awful camp, at least it was after the point where they murdered Ian Somerhalder, bastards): the Doctor Who Xmas Spesh was really wonderful. They basically made a '70s disaster movie, set it on the Titanic, in space, and added Kylie Minogue. Glorious!

'You're not falling, Astrid - you're flying'

Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh.

Mmmm, initially I thought that the parents were the perpetrators. But I've since reversed that opinion. I believe they are the poor victims of a terrible tragedy - and it is a shame, the media have pounced, and now the majority of people believe that they've committed it themselves.

I'm quite certain, that without the intense media involvement, the McCann incident would not have developed such a negative following. It seems it is almost human instinct to now condemn anything that receives such media hype.

On the other hand, high school boys are
useless outside battle and sports anime.
But they're recklessly trying to make a slice-of-life anime about us.
Ah, we are high school boys,
the miserable high school boys.

I just watched Requiem for a Dream. Not recommended to anyone easily grossed out.

I thought Requim for a Dream felt like a movie for teens who want to be alternative and watch something about drugs.

Oh and yeah it does. Although I still think they have a terrible name, I'm now more tempted to try them out. I also thought the use of music in the mansion scene was amazing, the huge crescendo.
I'm pretty sure that song is called In The House In A Heartbeat by John Murphy (who made the sound track), if you're into that you should look into postrock/postmetal because that genre sounds pretty similar to that song. and for the record Godspeed You! Black Emperor have a ridiculous name, but not as annoying as Suffocate For Fuck Sake. SFFS is one of my favourite bands, but I can't stand saying their name, so I don't talk about them much

Glorious!
I haven't seen it yet but you're pretty much the first person I've heard who thought it was any good. But then maybe you're being ironic; I can never tell.
