What about a bar... something like this?



Made of sections 1 pixel wide, and you get an extra bar every 10 rep.





I could make a native-looking pole or industrial pipe or something too, if the sections were wider (and gained every 100 rep, or with the current calculation).

It's just so difficult to make good-looking icons at such a small scale... I'm used to 32x32 pixel art.
Sounds like a good idea, but sorting out the bar behaviour would likely take some coding, and the admins are lazy gits (or so I've heard).

I don't actually like the bar. It looks abit sloppy to me... But then again I'm quite happy with the way they look now anyway.

Although the Glukkons posted earlier look really good.

We are, but we don't have access to anything more powerful than vB's shitty admin CP. Hint: That doesn't let us change the bar behaviour.

With all due respect Alex, I don't think anybody cares. EDIT: That is to say no-one's mentioned them at all since you las posted them. They're good... but people don't seem interested.

I've officially got used to the new icons now. I'd still like them spaced out a bit though.

Nobody complained about enchilado's bars or OddHunter's glukkon. All I'm doing is suggesting my own rep icons. If you don't like them, fine, that's your choice.

My main gripe at the moment is that the current rep icons aren't wide enough and the green one needs some work.

I like the current ones... but if they're going to be changed again, what about Glukkons for positive and Mudokons for negative?

I actually think the glukkons stack really well as they are, but if everyone else thinks otherwise I can add a bit of space no problem.

I use native all the time. I can't stand the rest of them. Plus, I'm pretty sure native is the default one, so I'm just used to it.

I thought of that, but thought it wouldn't be possible because the rep icons don't have /[theme]/[theme]/ in their URL... I guess the theme can just be changed, though.

Really you should define them more anyway.




I did like the idea of being able to choose which rep-icons to use... But I think it should be indivdual. I think it would be interesting to see everyone else's choice. It would also give a sense of costumization.

Anyway, maybe it's a bad idea because the whole forum would be filled with inconsistent icons.

I wouldn't set it like that. Like the themes we're not going to see who's using Native whenever we're using Industrial. If we set the Glukkon heads as our rep representative then we'll see Glukkon heads on everybody's rep bar. But if we're to go down that direction then I think that we should but the old rep-bar back in if people don't want to use the new ones.
