Skyrim

I am hyping in overdrive for the game. I thought a game that has been the topic of many gamers thoughts in the past months, I am sure it deserves its own thread. I have been hyping ever since I saw the Harry Partrige song on youtube . But anyway, predictions and ideas? Thoughts on the game?

I'm slightly annoyed that Americans can buy it from steam for $60US but in Australia it costs me (on steam) $90US. I mean if they completely overpriced it in Australian dollars they could at least try and use the unstable exchange rate as an excuse - I don't think they've even given a justification for such price discrimination.

Anyway I'm really looking forward to it.

It looks interesting, I wish I could afford it although I'm about to upgrade my graphics card. Guess I'll be waiting a little bit.

Never played a Elder Scrolls game in my life so I have no real opinion. Graphics wise it looks impressive.

As long as it's more Morrowind and Daggerfall, and less Oblivion, I'm happy.

I actually prefered Oblivion, but that's neither here nor there

I'm desperatel trying to set my expectations for this game very low, but it's getting harder every day. I need this game.

I'd love to play it, but I won't because I don't have enough money to spare and my computer wouldn't run it anyway.

My only problems with Oblivion was the lackluster main quest, the lack of truly great sidequests(The Dark Brotherhood ranks among the best ever for me, however.) and the autoleveled foes took away the feeling of advancement, not to mention fucking up some of the logic. For instance, why are all the bandits who are supposedly destitute, now carrying expensive glass armor? xP But the core gameplay was excellent.

I enjoyed Morrowind and I love Fallout 3 so so much. Oblivion looks cool, but I won't pay a lot for it to be honest.

It is a bit stupid that price fixing STILL occurs in the modern age when in theory, digital copies of games should be the same in all countries. But sadly, companies love to round up to the nearest 9.99 or whatever.

Take one thing for example, Rock Band Keyboards are ridiculously expensive. I'm not going to spend £60 to buy one. The bundles are like £70 but the price hasn't changed since launch day. That's seriously unfair to me.

Funny how the new Bond film is called Skyfall. Looks like they took the Sky bit of the name and copied it. :P Wait to see all these other games/films called Skyburn, Skyside, Skycloud and Skyski!

A new Bond's being made after all? Craig starring, or is it a new Bond? I hope not, he's been the only good Bond in awhile...
Anyway, One thing I'm loving about Skyrim is the way theyre implementing jobs, marriage, cooking, etc. It's really gonna feel immersive. I'm hoping they implement Obsidian's Hardcore mode from New Vegas. That'd be sweet.

Got this baby pre-ordered. Over the past year or so I've been noticing the flaws Oblivion has (was made in 2006 after all though) and I'm getting to the point where I'm unable to play it because I just don't find it that enjoyable anymore. Skyrim will be a breath of fresh air for me.

I was going to buy this, but I want the collector's edition of Rayman Origins, which is more urgent. I probably won't get it for Christmas, either, because I'm getting a 3DS ready for KHDDD.

For everyone who's thinking about getting the CE, don't. The Alduin statue itself is alright, but the base where it stands is hollow plastic with no colouring at all. The book did look really neat though, but really, 150$ for it? Nah.

150 is a lot... Besides there will be many more collectors editions(maybe)... and either way it will end up in the sale-bin at some point anyway... Usually happens. Just have to be quick.
And if you really want the book or the statue, it can always be found on Ebay or you could trade it for something.

I never got a collectors edition anything except FNV, it is debatable whether it was worth what it was worth, so I wouldn't be getting anything collectors edition in future I think. Besides, I get a free copy of Skyrim and I can't stress that enough. Excited am I.

The voice acting has all the subtlety of Oblivion's, but at least they have more than four voice actors this time.
