Give my Head Peace might actually be the best sitcom I've ever seen, next to Campus that is.
Because it was made in the North and satirises the community division, so we can relate to it a lot more.

I wish they still made that. Memorable characters such as 'Da' should not be forgotten.

Speaking of sitcoms, I really liked Mrs Browns Boys and Father Ted.
In terms of American sitcoms, I am really fond of Everybody Loves Raymond and Frasier. Just those relationships between the brothers and the kind of stereotypical father figure just makes me laugh every time.

The length of Avengers didn't bother me. Considering they already cut out some stuff of The Avengers movie, it would have been hard to trim it without getting rid of all the exposition sequences. I can't really think of a film that was too long for it's own good, but I know what people mean about when Act 3 just goes on way too long. For those who don't want to watch it in one sitting, there's always DVDs or film streaming!

It actually annoys me more when TV stations broadcast films later than 9pm. It's irritating that you have to stay up until midnight or else switch off and read the summary on wikipedia tomorrow. Adverted channels are the worst, they can make a long film run for like 4 hours with all the padded adverts.

I saw God Bless America.

It was extremely good. I'm not sure it's up everyone's alley, but it's worth giving a chance. Bobcat Goldthwait, the director, is one of my favourites and his last movie (World's Greatest Dad) was, as far as I can tell, one of the best movies Robin Williams has ever made.

All of the Lord of the Rings films.
They were long books, hence, long films. Doesn't explain why the longest Potter book was made into the shortest Potter film. I loved those films to death and there are plenty of others who feel the same way. Wait til you see the Extended Editions of LOTR. You'll think the original films are like a picnic in comparison. We're talking almost double the total running time with a lot of plot resolved.

The trailers for The Dictator were quite funny. Surprisingly Snow White & The Huntsman looks decent actually. Like Game of Thrones meets Princess Bride

The length of the books worked. The length of the movies did not. I still think that if they returned all the slow motion scenes to regular speed they could have cut an hour out of each of the films.

I had no idea it was released either until I saw someone mention the Family-Fun Russian roulette gun they use (pops a balloon, not your head). It was totally worth seeing. Get on that, dawg.

Arrested Development, Always Sunny, Louie, Girls, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Sanford and Son, The Cosby Show, Seinfeld, I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, The Jeffersons, Malcolm in the Middle, Everybody Hates Chris, The Big Bang Theory (don't care for that one)....Shall I go on?

Edit: Didn't notice the twenty year thing, but the majority of those apply.

And dear lord, I'm leaving out so many. Will and Grace, Fresh Prince, Fraser, Cheers, Everybody Loves Raymond, That 70's Show, Scrubs, Roseanne (One of the most important sitcoms of all time), 30 Rock, Community......so on, and so forth.
I'd disagree with a lot of those, but point taken. My definition of sitcom was way too conservative right when I made that post for some reason.

In fact, let's talk about slow motion. When did it start to become passe? The Matrix? 300? Legend of the Guardians? It seems the only way to make slow motion work well is to put the camera in weird locations or do interesting things with it. Like when Spider-Man slows time for the first time and you hear the flapping of a fly's wing, or in Wanted when you watch a bullet curve. Or in X-Men First Class where Magneto sent the bullet through Sebastian Shaw's head, while Xavier was forced to endure the same pain (he couldn't end the connection or Magneto would die.

The only good piece of slow motion was in a Wil Hay film about University or something.

I don't know. I do know that it was way over used, and made the movies a lot longer than necessary.

Slow motion is only good if it's used for explosions* and face slapping.

*Explosions being used to blow up kettles and fish and shit like that, not movie explosions.

Two of those were directed by the same person.
Zack Snyder is definitely a huge contributor to the slow motion fixation.

It definitely falls into my Top 10 list of shitty films. It isn't first, though. Other films are more deserving of that accolade.

I liked it. It was an action spectacle which actually focused on the spectacle, rather than making up some quasi-emotional bullshit.

But that woman who plays Trinity, good God, I didn't even realise actors could be that bad.

I don't think it's awful. The action scenes were well done and it had some well shot scenes. I just thought the story tried too hard to be complex and was ridden with plotholes and stuff that just didn't make sense.

It's an okay movie, just not worthy of the mounds of hype it gets.

But that woman who plays Trinity, good God, I didn't even realise actors could be that bad.
I find her pretty brilliant in Memento

Carrie-Ann Moss or something her name was. I seen her in another film and she was pretty good. She sucked in the Matrix.

Oh, and I think the Matrix sucks too. There are worse films* though.

*Intentionally bad films are actually awesome.
