Okay, so go watch Blade runner. Then read Paycheck, and watch the movie. Then read We Can Remember It for You Wholesale, watch Total Recall. Read Minority Report, Watch the movie. Turn the page, wash your hands. You get it.

I'd recommend reading everything of his that you can get your grubby little mitts on. I have a ton of his books. Love them. Although Confessions of a Crap Artist is probably his hardest book. Most people hate it.

Blade Runner yes, one of my favorite movies. I'm probably the only person in the world who actually likes the narration though. I can't make up my mind which I like better, the movie or the book, they're both excellent but I strongly believe that Roy's "Tears in Rain" monologue is the most profound utterance in history.

Should have read the book first. Read the rest of the books before watching the movies they're based on. There are a handful.
Really? I've always thought that it's a terrible idea to watch a movie after reading the book, because you'll always be disappointed. Or does Dick somehow surpass that rule?

Because Dick was such a respected author those who made movies based on his novels/stories did a pretty good job of staying as true to the book as they possibly could. Reading the books beforehand also gives you a better understanding of the characters. Since they are under time constraints, movies are usually way too vague and shallow about them, which is a shame, because Dick didn't really write vague or shallow character. Ever.

I don't think staying in Wonderland would have been a valid option. Besides, historically speaking, someone had to open trade routes with China. So... Alice is responsible for the opium wars. Yep.

I think in some cases it's necessary to also read the book beforehand or otherwise, like Blade Runner for instance, I would've of never understood the significance of Deckard's question about Rachel's owl being real or not without reading the book.

Moreover the book helped nme understand why it was constantly raining in the movie, although it's one of the things that subconsciously registers with you, it's more meaningful once you know why it's happening.

Don't listen to Hobo. There are like five expanded universe books that have been written by different authors. Harrison Ford came up with the idea for Blade Runner and wrote the original script.

T-Nex, yeah, there have been a couple of shitty sequels to the movie written. Not by Dick, so they don't count. They're jokes. Hence the 'oh my god'.

Oh... Well, for a moment I was getting excited. I really wanna read that novel. The one by Philip. I was even going to go to the library today as I was reminded of it, but then it was closed.

It's just... I really liked Blade Runner, and if there was some reading material to continue the saga, I'd love to read it...

Anyway I read that Scott has considered making a sequel movie a couple of times, but couldn't because of legal matters and stuff. Maybe that's a good thing though. I never saw Blade Runner as a movie that really needed a sequel It was so good on its own.
