Yep, love 'em.

Well, to be honest I only know their singles. And that new single isn't very good. But when they're on, they're on. Great to listen to when I don't feel like serious music.

:
Sublime is a fantastic band. A 1990s Ska-reggae band.

And the lead singer is fine. PHWOAR. <3

- Rexy
He's also dead.

Now playing: Opeth's Ghost Reveries.

I actually find Sublime to be an extraordinarily over rated band. As a lyricist that guy sucked ass.

Yeah, FOB has some good songs... I only listen to them when I'm in the mood. I usually listen to stuff like Chiodos, Staind, Breaking Benjamin, Deathstars, Shinedown, and some other random stuff, like Michael Buble, Prodigy and Cold. And s'more.

Yes, but do lyrics really matter if the rest of the song is good?

I think sublime is decent, but to fulfill my reggae needs I turn to the master, Bob Marley. Oh yeah, baby.

Most of the time my tastes turn to the Indie side of the Music pie chart.

The Killers-They're decent to good, depending on the song.
Neutral Milk Hotel-Ehh... I likey. But I know so little about them It makes me sad.
Modest Mouse- Since I've been lurking around for about a week before I joined, I found a decent-sized fan base circling this band. Most coincidentally, I like this band a good amount. Yes yes.
Franz Ferdinand- They're pretty good. For some reason I really find the surrealism in the "Take Me Out" video very good. Almost on a sexual attraction level. Mmmm....

The lyrics should matter not if you're in the music for the notes, not it's statement.

I never really liked them, but all they've got is lyrics. Same kind of thing with The Aquabats, never could get into them.

I've finally given Slint's Spiderland a proper listen, and I only just clicked as to why people think it's so amazing/groundbreaking. Definately getting the LP

Unless the lyrics are outright bad, I don't really mind.

Also, I don't think The Killers are indie...
But then I think the label of 'indie' is stupid anyway.

Eh, they like to say they lean that way of the scale, but they have their song "When You Were Young" on both Guitar Hero 3 and Rock Band. I'm sure they got paid for that and that defeats most of the purpose with "Indie". Plus, the only reason I listen to said "indie" is because the mainstream is so chock full of crap (i.e. Hip Hop) that it's not even worth a listen. I like plenty of mainstream bands too, it's all about the music, whether or not they're bathing in liquid gold or not. Plus, they've insulted Fallout boy in the past and that makes me giggle.

I listen to a whole mixture of different music genres, perferably classic rock. Rolling Stones, Queen, Styx, KISS, and The Sweet are just a few of my favorties. I rarely listen to modern-day music because I personally believe that most of it sucks. However, some Coldplay and KT Tunstall relaxes me when I'm feeling stressed. Franz Ferdinand also makes some solid tunes.

And of course, my music library wouldn't be complete without The Beatles.

Yes, Tool are good, but I don't listen to them too often as they have a limited style disorder.

And The Killers are cool. Well, their singles are. I listened to Sam's Town and didn't get much out of it.

Tool is pretty good i must say, but ya sometimes they ramble on a bit too much for my taste. And who doesn't like the Killers? Really.

I just found this artist called YACHT. It's pretty rad you all should check it out.

Tool are good if you're in the mood, otherwise they can get pretty bland, I feel like the chorus of Lateralus typifies their sound for me.

Killers are no indie, they're just like... poprock, mabye slightly alternative because of their heavy use of synths. I liked their first album but the second one (Sams Town mabye? don't know) did nothing for me.

I don't get classic rock or Franz Ferdinand either.

edit: http://www.divshare.com/download/3452341-19f for Fax Smile. It must have a weird codec or something, so it didn't work in my WMP, but if you've got VLC media player or anything else it should work. If you're into it I'd suggest these bands:

Movus
Followed By Ghosts
Don't Mess with Texas

Neutral Milk Hotel-Ehh... I likey. But I know so little about them It makes me sad.

Where do we start. Jeff Mangum (who really is Neutral Milk Hotel) started out by playing drums and bass in Olivia Tremor Control. After their first album, California Demise, he decided to pursue his own music although he was still a major player on every OTC album to follow. He then made the first NMH album, On Avery Island. With this album it became obvious which parts of the OTC albums came from him. He soon followed this album with In the Aeroplane Over the Sea which brought him national attention. Before this he was merely part of an underground "cult" called Elephant 6 which is a collective of about 40 different bands that all work on each others albums. A few years later, after almost completely falling off the map, he collaborated with some of the E6 people and made an experimental band called Major Organ and the Adding Machine. This was a huge disappointment for most fans and critics because they were under the impression that they were getting a new NMH album whereas this was almost exclusively strange noises and sound collages. After this very little was heard from Mr. Mangum until it was discovered that he had a slight nervous breakdown and joined a traveling circus. I'm not kidding. Since then he has played only one show and that was just as a backing musician for OTC. Friends say that he will likely never record again.

I hope that helped.

I read it, and I am pleased with the intelligence I have gained from it.

(Anonyman!'s reading level has increased by one, rendering him at 3rd grade level.)

Edit: As for Modest Mouse, I have only one album, We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. (Everyone keeps telling me it's crap compared to "The Old Shit".

Oh sweet, yeah, that's the song. I have heard of post-rock/metal and have enjoyed what I've heard (only thing that comes to mind instantly is Isis) but haven't really gotten into it yet as I have too many other albums in my mind that I need to buy before I delve into yet another genre. I also take huge issues with the name of the genre, but probably won't go into that here.

Edit: Damn, the song was nowhere as intense with volume swell as it was in the movie

Edit again: I thought I would share this little gem with everyone who hasn't played Silent Hill 2:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWS2aE4rrYc

Although it's probably at it's most powerful after going through all of the emotions of the game, it's still a beautiful piece of music.
Akira Yamaoka is an incredible mood composer, a total asset to the series.

lollylops I never said anything about their interviews...

The new A Silver Mount Zion got leaked recently, it's quite a big disappointment to be honest; Efrim's singing was never great, but he's just bad on this album. Everything sounds much more proggy than it does posty.

New Pyramids is good, and the Arms and Sleepers full length release is amazing.
