Are you ready for some football?

Some thoughts
Brian Westbrook was absolutely shredding Oakland in the preseason game and McNabb looked sharp. And obviously Aaron Brooks is a big upgrade from Collins. Statikk HDM's first audacious prediction of the football season:
1 of these teams will go at least 7-9
Also I'm so glad Warren Moon made the Hall of Fame. Loved Moon to DEATH when I was little and always watch his game on ESPN classic where he threw for over 500 yards. Brilliant, brilliant athlete who helped pave the way for minority QBs.
Lastly, Tank Williams injured himself and will be out for the season. This is a big loss for The Vikings but luckily the Vikings staff had the foresight to sign Dwight Smith
Statikk HDM's audacious NFC North prediction:
The Vikings will go 9-7 or 10-6 and be in a total dogfight for the NFC North title and the wild card. Everybody is counting them out because they don't have Culpepper, Burleson, Moss, and Tank Williams anymore but they've picked up Chestor Taylor, rehabbed Tice back into a starter, Greenway will be an impact LB rookie, and they are in a very soft division. If they can split their first 6 difficult games and win 5 road games and still perform like they always do in the HHH they'll make the playoffs.
Johnson is my homeboy.

Screw you and the horse you rode in on if you aren't going to contribute. Spamming is disrespectful to me, the forum members, and the elite of football who just got inducted. Shame on you.

You're right, I'm wrong. I'm totally grateful for your bitchy 1 word post and your bitchy two sentence followup.

Wait one minute: this is football? Things sure have changed. There was a time when only the goalie could touch the ball with his hands

Soccer is not football. Its hockey for people who can't skate.
Anyhow, Vikings go against "Da Raidahs". The quotations mean read that in your best Al Davis voice. I think the Vikings stack up pretty well and Moore and Taylor can slash through the Raiders D-line. If that doesn't happen short curl routes, dump offs to the tight ends, and possession ball with a sprinkling of bombs should do the trick. Basically, the West Coast Offense.
I really want the Vikings to step up and make the playoffs this year.

Only americans call "soccer" soccer . Rest of us just call it football, and a thing you call football, we call american football or ragbi (unless serbs do).

Word football contains two words. FOOT - BALL, wich is logicaly more suitable for soccer, don't you think.
statikk don't yell, it's not spamming, just going a li'l offtopic.

No, Rugby is different (full name "Rugby Football").

But let's stop spamming Statikk's lovely thread.

Are there any Americans here besides me who give a damn about football? Its the Monday Night Football is the highest rated show among White, Black, and Hispanic people. Its freaking huge! I was going to start a thread about Baseball but I know where that would go
"Baseball sucks."
"What's the wild card race?"
"Baseball? Oh, is that what you yanks play instead of cricket? Pip pip tallyho and all that rot."

What, like every year? I'm jealous. I knew they were going to beat Seattle. But the reffing for both sides in that game was pretty awful. What do you think about the quick rehab from the bike crash for Roethlisberger? Is that going to cost them games? Is he going to be as sharp as he once was? I can't believe I'm asking you if your quarterback is going to perform when the Vikes are rocking Brad Johnson with Mike McMahon as the back-up. Johnson is a good athlete, don't get me wrong, but he's older than dirt and the thought of McMahon starting if Johnson gets hurt for any stretch of games, much less the season, makes me dry heave.

Bleah, I haven't kept track of ol' Ben's condition. It's probably alright by now I guess.

If he's still going to be out, I'm hoping Palomalu and others will be able to carry the extra weight. They're great players, but with Roethlisberger gone, that takes a pretty big chunk out of the Steelers.

As I said, haven't been keeping track.

He's alright, did fine in camp and his preseason game.
The Vikings play "Deh Raiderrrz" tonight, really wanna see what Hutchinson and Greenway can do, Longwell is a good kicker, something the vikings haven't hade in years, can Birk perform tonight, what about Taylor, etc. Its only preseason but there will be a lot of things for me to watch, should be fun.
