I never found out, (though it's probably answered somewhere), what's in Ed's twitter icon?

No clue, I'm not sure anywone found anything interesting in that picture.

:
On the page text, the letters E T N O are sometimes highlighted – reload the page a number of times and you will eventually see it:

EDIT:

HIDDEN, ERASED, and LOST are also sometimes highlighted:

Different sections of the ASCII logo are also highlighted when you reload multiple times. I’m not sure if there’s a correlation, let me check. EDIT2: No noticeable correlation between the logo highlights and the text highlights.

Just want to point out that the E T N O characters are all present in the highlighted "HE has lit a firE in our hEarts" sentence.

I tried to Erase them and Join the remaining bits and I come up with:

Hhasliafiriurhars

Which looks ridiculous and doesn't realy help us.

I remember saying I thought it was Abe's Moon, because you can see part of a curve that would form a circle in the bottom left if you look closely. Perhaps it's the Spirit of 1029 logo though. Either way there hasn't actually been a definitive answer, as of yet. Could just be jumbled static.

I feel like 1029.io is glitching more. I've been noticing more glitches, more vigorously, and the 'WE WERE TAUGHT THAT THIS IS ALL THERE WAS:' now cycles between 'work', 'obey', and 'comply' constantly, changing about once per second.
Though I might just be finding stuff that existed there already.
I took a look through the page code just in case, and nothing has changed there that I can see myself. That little code still there, and Abe's still being philosophical.

I have just posted this in another thread discussing a few recent interviews with Lorne Lanning, but I thought it was worth posting here to make sure that those interested in the ARG see it. Here's my post from the thread:

:
. Lorne speaks very briefly about how a major element of his original plan for Exoddus was this "flammable brew". He stops himself very quickly, but says it was meant to be an "active" and integral part of the evolution of gameplay that would form part of how the game works. It was cut due to those time restraints that everyone knows about. Has this flammable brew ever been mentioned before? Sounds interesting!
I've only just realised about how this directly relates the "FL4MMBL3" clue that led us to the 1029.io. I thought it was quite interesting, and probably confirms that this flammable brew will play a big part in Soulstorm, and potentially the rest of the ARG. Perhaps that's what Abe is seeing in his eye reflections in the face picture we were studying? This flammable brew being set off. I feel like things are beginning to click into place in my head.

I feel like flammable brew DID make it into the game, partially.
In the form of explosive farts.

So do we think the point of the ARG was to find this website, or do we think this is just another phase of it? I'm thinking this is possibly the end, because it's given us new information about the game.

There's still things like the 'note' or 'tone', which we haven't figured out yet.
Maybe it's the note of the noises a Glukkon makes when it's walking? Who knows.

Hey everybody. Yesterday I read the whole thread of the SoulStorm ARG. You guys did a really good job! Great teamwork! It was very entertaining to read everything.
Now I also want to try to help you guys.

When you look at the source code of the 1029.io page and scroll down to line 167 theres a huge space to the following code. Marking the whole thing from line 167 to line 366 you'll see that there are some spaces in a few rows.
181, 212, 243, 274 and 305. Then the pattern by 31 lines stops and theres nothing til line 366.

I saw something similar in this post

I hope it is something that might help you...

Welcome to the hunt. The space is interesting, at the minute we're not entirely sure if there's anything we're meant to be looking for, but it's good to document everything.

Also, I believe this maybe a new addition to the source code, but it's sort of nestled within a few lines it's possible I've missed it. Down by the mailing list sign-up, hidden in the source code is the message:

< !-- real people should not fill this in and expect good things - do not remove this or risk form bot signups-- >

Not entirely sure what to make of it. Might be new considering the 1029 Twitter tweeted this morning. Perhaps it's an indicator we'll be recieving mail soon? I've been signed up to that mailing list since the Soulstorm site was first announced and I don't think I've ever got an e-mail from it. Also I think they've added a box where you have to confirm your age, but that's not really ARG related at all

EDIT: I just tried to sign up again and it keeps saying "please enter a value" underneath the part where you put your email address in. This is different to the error "This field is required" when you simply don't write anything in the email address box. Is that happening to anyone else? Again probably not ARG related.

This is most likely a honeypot to catch spambots signing up to the mailing list – pretty common practice, so unlikely to be significant.

Gotcha. I've never seen anything like that, but I suppose I've barely ever been on the source of any other page aside from this ARG. Does show you how much I want there to be another clue, but it appears the ARG is either done / lying dormant until another announcement.

1029.io has too many weird stuff going on that we still need to figure out. I don't think the ARG is done but rather we reached end of a phase.

Also, I refuse to believe the ARG is done until we know what 8291 stands for.

It happened to me too. It's not a honeypot. It's either poorly coded Javascript stopping people from legitimately signing up for the mailing list, or it's a poorly thought out part of the ARG.

The suspicious thing in the 1029.io source code that most intrigues me is the string of numbers featured towards the top:

< !-- 33 74 72 83 51 -->

I've tried using the same method that the last string like it was used for (E.G in a phrase, 33 = 3rd word 3rd letter, 74 = 7th word 4th letter and so on...) on many phrases found on the site like "He has lit a fire in our hearts" or "Well I rescued Mudokons, but who's gonna rescue me?" but either it never fits or just returns complete gibberish, as well as being Caesar ciphered. That's the piece I've been mulling over in my head since we found the site but nothing ever works.

Could it potentially be a phone number of some sort? I know ARGs have used things like that in the past. Just tried ringing it in my phone but it just gave me some beeps. Not even sure if it's the correct length for any country. My phone said it was based in France but I think that's just because it starts with 33.

Just doing a regular checkup - the honeypot /maybe not a honeypot message has been removed, and the layout of the signup box has moved around a bit (and the sign up actually works now. ) Again, I'm doubtful this is related to the ARG, but thought it was worth mentioning.

The signup does't work for me. Still claims I haven't entered a value for First Name.

That's strange it worked when I entered to check it this afternoon and never asked for a value.

Says I'm already registered

Maybe try again in a few hours or tomorrow?

The signup is for the same service on the regular Oddworld website, so if you filled it out on the Oddworld website, or on the previous SoulStorm one, you are already signed up

Damn, the text on that site could be copied straight to a random real-life terrorist group, change a minimal amount of text and you'd never know the difference.

There's a sense of irony in there somewhere.

I don't think it's irony, it's more the fact that real-life terrorists co-opt freedom fighter causes and twist them into something terrible.
