Bill was Slav - er, Employee of the, uh, Moment! at Necrum Mines. He likes playing hide-and-go-bump-into-walls, and his favourite album is Tommy. Stumpy is Abe’s room mate in RuptureFarms.

It isn't safe to say that because we know for a fact that that was his name. If you had the art book you'd know that too.

The fact is that Abe was originally envisaged as a free mudokon fisherman (thus the 'Lure' surname). The name was dropped when OWI decided that it would feel more significant if he started the story ignorant of his spiritual heritage.
I do have the art book.

I'm sorry I implied that Abe was never named that as in conception stage. I meant that Abe was never named Abramham Lure in the world we see in the Oddworld games. Or rather, the canon storylines that made it in the games. (This may be changed in the movies of course) I do agree (and I read, even before I got the book) that Abe was considered to be named Abramham Lure.

:
Big Face is seven letters
It is also a name that lacks much sophiscation. I imagine modern Mudokons don't have very inventive names for their people, as opposed to names like Agatha, Brint, or Sneha.

:
I think the name Abe symbolizes something for Mudokons: maybe it stand for saviour or for liberator... maybe in the ancient Mudokon language.
If Abe was named by enslaved Mudokons, I guess that isn't the reason why Abe was named Abe.

:
A simple name like "Abe" seemed best for Oddworld's first alien-looking character.
I could never create a reason why he was named Abe in the canon version of Oddworld.

Where are Oddworld's industrial's homes? Why don't wee see any?
If storming the dining hall of Molluck's estate was conductive to shutting down Rupture Farms and freeing the scrubs I'm sure we would have seen it,

Most probably live in Nolybab, if they have homes at all. I wouldn't be surprised if they spent most of their time in their offices. Certainly the Vykkers lived in their airship.

Ok.

I want to tell about Mudokons's names that Abraham was who led Jews to Palestine from Ur. So it is possible that Abe (if he was really Abraham Lure) was chosen to lead Mudokons in their Promised Land, maybe out of Mudos.

Abe is not just named by slaves. When he is 'wanted' a poster with a photo of him holding his own name up infront of him is present. Therefore we can assume that slaves are named by the industrialists for convenience as well as just by fellow workers.

I recently realised that when Big Face 'resurrects' Abe or whatever he does, he draws the symbol for infinity in the ground. Was this done on purpose by OWI, and if so, why? A way of representing Abe's infinite lives? Though then, why would an ingame character do that, presuming that in the 'real' Oddworld universe, Abe wouldn't really have infinite lives like that.

It might be infinity. It might be a twisted circle representing the warping of the cycle of life and death that the Big Face is performing.

Imbalanced, it means the natural balance of the land like food cycles and things were messed up because of the deforestation and endangerment of species caused by the Maggoc Cartel.

I kept hearing "in bounds". "Imbalanced" makes much more sense.

In fact it is "in bounds". But I read in this file (that I attach in this post) "imbalanced". Anyway I heard "in bounds".

AIN, that isn't an official walkthrough or script, therefore, that could be a mis-hearing just as much as BM misheard it.

It is quite certainly imbalanced. It makes more sense, and I can certainly hear the '-nced' at the end, which you don't in 'in bounds'.

And it's "imbalanced at that" not "at best".

I hear imbalanced at best :S And I only played it yesterday, it makes the most sense but meh....I'm probably wrong.

EDIT: Just watched it again and I'd swear on my life it is 'Imbalanced at best'.

I always hear "at best" when I play AO. Because I hear at least "-st", so it should be "at best".

No. No. There is so much wrong in that paragraph.

Abraham was, according to the bible, the first person to believe in monotheism. In a world of decadence and debauchery, he found spiritual meaning and spread that to those around him. That seems like a pretty good example for Abe. That said, comparisons to Abraham Lincoln freeing the slaves are probably more appropriate.

As a further clarification, he didn't lead Jews anywhere because there weren't any Jews at the time, nor would there be for another 400-odd years. All he led was his family and that of his nephew Lot. Plus, he led them to Canaan, not Palestine - Palestine didn't exist as a geographical name until about 150-odd A.D.

Why did you re-upload that picture? You could link it from TOGG as it's where it comes from you know

What makes you believe it's from Hand of Odd, it's simply a visualisation test featuring plenty of characters.

So even if we can make out if those are from ice or rock it doesn't really matter as it's simply a test

I say mountains...
